| Hi all,
I'm using BrickStore up keep my inventory. I go to "Export" then
"Mass Update" but get an error saying "There are problems: This list
contains items without a BL lot ID."
I hit yes to export anyway then copy/paste the XML to BL mass upload but every
lot gets a red error.
Any ideas?

Is your BrickStore database freshly updated? If there were recent changes in
the BL database there might be conflicts.

To get a lot ID, you must have first imported your Shop content using CTRL+I
then CTRL+S.
Just locate or display the Lot ID column, sort it, and check which items are
a problem.

| 1001bricks,
I'm not showing a LotID under any of my items on my inventory in BrickStore.
I imported my store, which comes up under a new tab and it has my our of date
inventory (the inventory I'm trying to update with this export). On that
new tab, each item does have a LotID.
So I guess the question is how to get a Lot ID assigned to my updated inventory
so I can export it in update format.

When you export, does the XML code have the Lot ID for each item?

Nope.
This is my first run off attempts at uploading stuff.
To mitigate this, I deleted my store inventory on BL. Mass uploaded my inventory
from BrickStore, note there was no Lot ID next to each lot. It uploaded successfully.
I did ctrl+s to download my inventory, and like magic, all the Lot IDs were there.
So I "saved as..." and saved over my previously uploaded BrickStore inventory.
So that worked... but I shouldn't have to delete/re-upload everything everytime
I want to update inventory. Ideas?

You don't have to delete and re-upload everything everytime you want to update
your inventory. Here's how my "Inventory Update Workflow" goes:
1. Import BrickLink Store Inventory into BrickStore (CTRL+I CTRL+S)
2. Make changes in BrickStore
3. Export BrickLink Mass Update XML to Clipboard (CTRL+E CTRL+P)
4. Paste XML code into text box, click Verify File and Submit Updates
Hope that helps.

I see. Since I haven't opened my store yet, I didn't think I'd have
to download my inventory into Brickstore before adding pieces.
I have a rather large inventory. Tried to upload just parts and the file was
too big to Bricklink. Any suggestions?
Thank you!

Have you tried breaking it into chunks? BrickLink can only handle so many lots
at once.

| Yep, I can do that, but what a pain.
Alright, back to square one. Downloaded my inventory into Brickstore; all lots
have Lot IDs. Added some new lots. When to export and got the same original error.
Tried highlighting just the new lots (all of which have no Lot ID) and again,
the same original error.

Upload ≠ Update
For adding new lots to your inventory, use the mass upload function. No
Lot ID is needed since there's no lot in BrickLink to begin with.
For modifying existing lots, use the mass update function. The Lot ID
is needed since it tells BrickLink which lot to modify.

P.S. If you're doing both, then use the upload function and delete your bricklink
store inventory before reuploading.

Thanks all, I think I'm getting the methodology here. Thus far I've only
uploaded minifigs. Will upload the rest of the store this afternoon and see what
issues I run into.
