| Hello, I recently tried the following feedback:
"Disrespectful speculator. order never received. Does not respect the shipping
method"
This Feedback, per bricklink rules, may be removed for the following reason:
- Feedback you received contains vulgar language.
So I made the request, restarted the "customer service" and since nothing.
Have you had a similar case that ended well or Bricklink is doing its job?

Usually feedback removal requests are the fastest things to be dealt with when
it comes to Bricklink customer service, but the help desk seems to be running
smoothly now as they've fixed some issues and hired more people

Speculator has a negative connation, synonymous to scalper. So it could be argued
that it’s defamatory. But that’s not vulgar.

| 'vulgar' is just the French word of the moment, cf Italy...

| What are you actually trying to say?
1. “Disrespectful”. Were they rude in their communication to you?
2. “Speculator”. Did they not have the product in hand when selling an item
to you? How do you know this?
3. “Order never received “. Would be a useful comment, but confusing because
of your next point. Not received after how long?
4. “Does not respect the shipping method”. They didn’t follow they shipping
method set up in their store? Or you added a comment they didn’t see? Did
you ask for it drop shipped and a freight forwarder didn’t complete delivery.
This actually sounds like something unusual was requested.
If I was seeing this feedback to a seller I have no idea what, if anything, they
did wrong.

| I can't see that feedback he's talking about, that was left for him,
in his neutral or negative feedback. Perhaps the request to remove the feedback
was completed and he does not see the result?
If it is somewhere in his positive feedback by mistake, then I don't have
the time to go and find it, meaning it's likely the Help Desk will only find
it because they have the actual feedback to look at.
Every feedback that does get removed gets recorded and he should have a response
of the result of the removal request, unless they have not yet got to it.
I'm as confused as anyone casually reading the forums would be. There's
probably a lot going on behind the scenes that nobody but the seller, buyer,
and BrickLink admins running the Help Desk can see. It makes it hard to understand
why he posted this message in the public forums, that's for sure.
Cheers ...

As I said earlier, “spéculateur” may be understood as “scalper.” Not that we
use “spéculateur” for “scalper” but it’s connoted with greed and always used
with words like “avid,” “shameless” and such nicety.
Not vulgar, at most defamatory.

Aren't all sellers here, except those selling off their own collections,
speculators. Anyone that huts to sell is speculating. A lot of negative feedback
will be seen as defamatory by the person receiving it as they don't agree

Not exactly. Speculator means observer in Latin: that means they don’t do much
work, contrarily to most BL sellers
Anyway, OP’s last message shows they don’t understand the word vulgar….

I guess that is the origin of the word, but it is not used as an observer in
English. It only really has two meanings, investor (usually in stocks, where
you essentially do little work but watch for the result but also for goods too,
as in "speculate to accumulate" and to guess at a result or theorise
without good/all information (which is similar to investing in stocks but can
apply to theoretical predictions too).

Same for French, on the surface, but it’s almost always used in the sense of
profiteer or even scalper.
| and to guess at a result or theorise

|
Same for French, but also most often associated with adjectives like “idle” or
“baseless.”
When you speculate, you don’t even do educated guesses, you’re just making noise
So it’s mostly always derogatory in French. Still not vulgar.

While I agree there is no vulgar language here, it could be argued that ignoring
someone is the opposite of doing your job.
Can it be declined, can a message be sent? Surely ignoring 1/2 the people that
keep the site functional is very poor service. I mean it took me longer to write
this than say a message such as:
"Sorry but we do not feel that this violates the feedback rules and therefore
can not remove this feedback."
This on the heels of "Hey look, our support tickets now get answered in a
day".

BrickLink can't remove the negative feedback as there is no vulgar language
contained in it.
In order for a feedback to be removed, there has to be actual vulgar language.
You'll have to take it up with the buyer. Since you are the seller you can
respond to his negative feedback, unless this was the result of a Non Shipping
Seller (NSS) filed against you.
The buyer is unhappy that they did not receive their order and if you want to
resolve the issue, you need to see if there is anything you can do to track down
it's whereabouts, as packages do go missing during transit, although it is
rare for this to happen.
French translation of above, provided by Google Translate web page:
Hope that helps.

| Thank you all for your messages, I now understand the general point of view.
For me this type of expression is vulgar and has nothing to do with defamation.
I deduce a problem of translation and I realize that it can really be a problem
a bad interpretation of a translation. I will be careful.
Thanks =)
