Star Wars so it's going to be gray. But it would look much better in classic
space blue.

| In general, I trust in BL staff to use a better color naming scheme for the trans-blacks
than TLG 😊
Still not sure about Light Brown, though. Would prefer something like Bionicle
Brown 😉

Believe me, some of BrickLink’s names are better. I wouldn’t want to call Brown
“Earth Orange” all the time. However, I believe that “Trans-Black” is an inaccurate
name and should have been changed many years ago. The color is much more brown
than black.

Well, there’s quite a few (=42) (old) Trans-Black parts in the BDP Series 1 palette
in Studio… so there’s a chance they will still be produced in 2024, when the
sets will be produced.
… Unless LEGO changes them to Trans-Blackest during production.

Well, there’s quite a few (=42) (old) Trans-Black parts in the BDP Series 1 palette
in Studio… so there’s a chance they will still be produced in 2024, when the

Per Ryan, the 2023 palette has it and opal marked as EXIT 31-12-2024; so it's
all but confirmed it's retiring, but parts may still be in production through
2024.

the new colour would seem best since other colour names arnt based off how lego
has them so why do we need this one to if it will be at the cost of a very well
known name

Docent look Black to me more like some sick medium blue color.
We really need a image where the both the new color and the old are side by side.
And i agree with other people in here.
You don't change a name that been in the database for over 20 years, you
make a new one.

I disagree. There’s no reason to create more confusion for the next 20 years.
LEGO isn’t going to change their color names, so we should try our best to match
their names going forward. Calling the current smoky color Trans-Black was a
terrible choice from the start.

Trans-White is still available.
