I have the same issue! Been working at it for SIX FREAKING YEARS!!! 😭😭😭😭😭
I eventually gave up and threw it in a box and try to forget about it 😂 (and
then I start looking for it and work on it even more with absolutely no luck
and it just stressed me out 😂)

| I'm doing ok then because I just started tonight lol
Managed to get most of it sorted out but that last bunch is knotted pretty tight.

Step one drink a bottle of beer. Step 2 take a look at it. Step 3 run to the
lcbo and buy a bottle a whisky for the sadness when you give up and throw them
out

Start from an end-point like

and go backward, through the mess until that single string reaches the other
endpoint and it is liberated!
do the same with other endpoints! This is not too difficult!

It’s more so the mental willpower that’s the problem for me when I see
cords all tied up I check to make sure they are nothing to valuable then “remove
them from circulation” and do something else

It's not that hard, you just need a lot of patience.
At least it's not as problematic as an "8-Track Tapes" that a friend
brought to me in a plastic bag. They was trying to clean it and had dropped it.
It was an 8 hour version. Took me 3 tries before I got it right
A picture for those that don't know what a "8-Track Tapes" is.
