I bought 2 tubs of older (60s-80s??) Lego at a garage sale and am looking for
info on anything in the image but specifically the white 2x4s that have holes
going through the sides. There are many of them, Patent Pending. Some also have
a 19 or 8 or other number in the corner. The white plate in the lower right
shows the underside. There is also red, white and blue base plates in the background.
The white shows the underside. I have many of them and they are either 10x20
or 10x10. Thank you for your help!

Those bricks with the holes are for wheels like this:

Part No: 715ac01 Name: Wheel with 12 Studs and Axle Cam for Motor with Black Tire Smooth - Large Solid (715a / 36)
*
715ac01 (Inv) Wheel with 12 Studs and Axle Cam for Motor with Black Tire Smooth - Large Solid (715a / 36)
Parts: Wheel & Tire Assembly
The metal axles on the wheels go in the tiny holes and hold be friction.

Thank you so much! It doesn’t look like there are any wheels in the mix unfortunately
but I may luck out and find one or two buried in there. Like I said, I have
2 large tubs to go through. Mostly 2x’s, plates and ~20 of the larger baseplates.
There are lots of nice windows of different shapes and styles, fence pieces
and plenty of the white wheel bricks. A few printed bricks with the Lego logo
that stood out. Looks like I have some sorting to do!

I'm a bit surprised you didn't find any of these in black as well. Very
common from that era

Depends on when exactly, the white ones are older. They were used until 1970,
sets from 71 on use black ones. (At least that's what the catalog says.)

So far I haven’t found any of the black ones. I’ll keep an eye out. I have
sorted the tubs yet, just raked through.
