| There are a number of people claiming to have the 1 x 1 round brick in colors
that aren't listed as legit in any database (Bricklink, Brickset, Rebrickable
etc). Colors such as Aqua, Bright Light Orange, Light Turquoise, Maersk Blue,
Olive Green, Pink, Very Light Grey, Trans-Bright Green, Trans-Light Bright Green,
Trans-Medium Blue, Trans-Neon Yellow, Trans-Orange, Trans-Purple, Chrome Silver,
Flat Dark Gold, Flat Silver and Metallic Gold.
Is anyone aware of any 1 x 1 round bricks in colors not listed in the "known
colors" on BL actually existing rather than just being a miss-labeled entry
or something? Maresk Blue and Pink both have images on BL but its hard to tell
if they are legit or just some other color that has been mistaken for Maresk
Blue or Pink...

Those are just cases of people not familiar with colors. Check the Part Color
Codes if you’re curious about which colors likely exist in a part. I believe
that Pink photo is an error. Maersk Blue is confirmed to exist. There are Chrome
Gold bricks out there. Trans-Medium Blue might exist, but it has yet to be seen.

I think that's half of it, but since 3062b has an open stud without a logo,
I think the other half is people accidentally listing Mega Bloks and other brands
of 1x1 round bricks. I've caught some in my own inventory by going through
it carefully and looking for ones where the inside of the open stud is completely
round (clone parts) instead of hexagonal (real Lego). Sometimes the color and
sheen of the parts is virtually identical to the corresponding Lego color, and
the stud opening is the only noticeable differentiating factor. That difference
has also identified at least a dozen clone 3062bs that I've received from
BL sellers in the last few years alone. So they all got thrown in a bin with
over 75 lbs of clone parts from bulk lots and donated to a large local rec center!

Sorry, octagonal, not hexagonal. Lego identification is my superpower, not geometry!

"Known colors" is a misnomer. It should really be "production colors"
or "colors that were sold in sets", or something similar.
This doesn't mean all the colors listed for sale are legit, but some certainly
might be. Odd colors show up here all the time. There are clues to look for,
like comments on the listing or the number of people selling that color, or even
certain sellers, usually in Europe, who repeatedly get their hands on these oddities.
Years ago I suggested that sellers should get an ominous warning message when
trying to add a part to their store that isn't in a known color making them
click "yes I'm sure this is trans-dark effervescent pinkish red"
or whatever. But people failed to grasp the genius of it, even though preventing
a problem once is always more efficient than solving that same problem hundreds
of times over...

I think about them as "released colours"

I still think that would be a good idea.
The amount of sellers who make colour mistakes is huge.

Perhaps it is people unsure of color variations in known brick colors… it is
easy to find enough color variation in a known color to think it is another unknown
color and parts then get listed as such.

I have several (4 IIRC) Bright Light Orange 1x1 round bricks. They are definitely
the colour specified and official Lego. I was working on a MOC and needed them
for a particular purpose. The parts themselves weren;t expensive, but postage
and import duties were!!! There's one available in France right now.
