with stripe I would drop Paypal in a heartbeat. for something like this you'd
think it would get overruled in court instantly

I've scaled back my Paypal use as much as possible due to some drama Paypal
caused in the UK regarding censorship in the past week or so along these lines.
I only use it now when there is absolutely no alternative, and I sent customer
service a polite email to explain why.

It's a principles issue.

Previously thought paypal was one of the greatest companies in the world. Really
wish there was a viable alternative. At least ebay ditched them and created their
own payment processor. It does amuse how every single "mistake" or "leak" always
seems to benefit only one side.

OMG - Bricklink its 2022 please update the settings to open links in a new tab.

Also paypal are hurting since ebay starting processing funds and they are looking
for any excuses to take your cash.

In truth I think you'll find it actually benefited both companies....

ebay get to have more control over managing payment issues so they can resolve
things more directly with their customer base and in return paypal still take
a share of the pie whilst only having to deal directly with one huge customer(ebay)

Well if ever the was a reason for bricklink to get a shift on with implementing
the use of other payment avenues now would be that time! This is barbaric!

No need to exaggerate.  It was an honest mistake¹.  They actually won’t do it.
Pinky-swear.

¹ As in: Oops, sorry, sir!  That was an honest mistake.  Here’s the $20 bill
that was in your wallet that was in the inside pocket of your suit jacket under
your closed coat and that mysteriously found its way to my hand.

I signed up for Sum Up just for UK use ~ https://www.sumup.com/en-gb/ it's
cheaper than Paypal and we used it at a show a couple of weeks ago, absolutely
no problem. I wish online venues would take this up.

The drivers behind this are the totalitarian forces which want to take away all
our freedoms, including the freedom of speech, and turn now humans also into
a commercial good. As they have done with everything else of this world, from
land to nature to ecosystems and to traditions of the people and their interactions.

Sure, it seems to have been walked back via their spokesperson. But don’t
be fooled, they’ve left in place the cancelation of accounts for this new and

Effectively, they have walked nothing back as it is still there in the AUP: https://www.paypal.com/us/legalhub/acceptableuse-full

Link doesn't work here...

This means you're making business or money either against the Laws
or not under the acceptable use policy?

Like getting paid for membership to your flat-Earth / Never gone to the moon
Society? Or this other one where Women are inferior? Worse?

Frankly... I don't have a problem with those Terms.

But I admit it shouldn't PayPal that rules this: but Judges.

Looting the account isn't the way to do it. Just ban them and transfer their
money to whatever bank they have connected or send them a check or whatever.
Time and time again we find that deplatforming works, but paypal isn't entitled
to their money any more than they are entitled to a paypal account.
