This one is for the old timers.
Way back in 2005 toys’rus sold these tubs that had a box strapped to the top
with 500 pieces “free”

I have checked the inventory on Bricklink, but there were 2 different boxes and
there is only 1 inventory.

Anyway, I am looking at some 2 x 4 bricks which have been stored away in clipseal
bags for 17 years.
This is because I cannot be 100% certain of the 2 colours

I believe one might be lilac and the other possibly Lavender, but I need to be
certain

Can anyone help ?

Thanks , Slim

Left: Medium Violet (and add a note to your lot as Bricklink does not distinguish
two distinct varieties: this is the Medium Bluish Violet variety); this color
is rather unique for the Brick 2x4
Right: Medium Lavender (common modern color)

That is under the condition that the colors as shown in your image do match the
colors IRL closely.

Thanks for the help.
The picture is as near as I can get to these in real life

I am now fairly certain about the Lilac ones. Still beating on medium lavender
or Lavender.
Thankfully I only have 12 of the latter.
35 of the lilac

They look medium lavender to me as well (lavender would be lighter, I think)
but one complication is that neither color was introduced until 2011-2012. Circa
2005 would definitely be surprising for either one. Are we certain the bricks
aren't light purple?

Not light purple

For what it’s worth way back then many UK sellers were having the same issue
trying to gauge the correct colour.
The bonus box was often called “ floor sweepings” by the random nature of the
bricks and colours within.

Quite a few of these bricks were sold under the wrong colour

I believe you but if the color guide is substantially accurate then these colors
wouldn't be available for several years. 1-2 years earlier I could see, but
6-7 is hard to believe.

The switch to Lilac only happened 3 weeks ago:

So, for all the time they have existed (17 years), they have been and continue
to be sold as Medium Violet. Yours would be the very first listing EVER as Lilac.

There is a good chance that Lilac is more correct.

I was just pointing out how they have historically been cataloged, listed and
sold until now. The Lilac catalog designation is so new that only 14 people
have it on their Wanted List as Lilac, versus 428 people want them as Medium
Violet. That may affect your pool of potential buyers.

Neither color has many other parts that make them very useful for building.
I would guess that most sales would be single pieces for people who are creating
or expanding their own Lego Color Charts. The actual color name is pretty much
Irrelevant since there are so few other parts to compare it with.

Whatever color you choose to list them as, you can always Provide your own Photo
AND add a detailed Description. That should at least limit the color confusion
for buyers. Whatever it is called, they will get a brick of the same color as
your photo.

Good Luck, Have Fun, Sell lots of Lego, and Make Lots of Money

I don’t think so.
Everybody already complains enough about the lack of this feature that I doubt
the old timers would never have said it was possible before

The email with the instructions was sent n 2019.
But any zip file that it says is needed to re-activate that account is not showing
up in my emails
It may have been received but I wiped a lot of emails in the last few years.

If anyone who knew me before wants proof of who I am then tell them to ask Granny

Maybe you can contact Helpdesk. Your personal info will match with proof, maybe
you still have your old account's password... maybe your old account could

What’s 14,000 +ve feedback anyway.

Maybe you can contact Helpdesk. Your personal info will match with proof, maybe
you still have your old account's password... maybe your old account could
be enabled/unlocked.

Welcome back.

Just checked: my order placed #1145404. Feedback left Dec 1, 2008.

The bricks on the left are Lilac.
The bricks on the right are Medium Lavender.

I own a copy of 4679b-2 and can confirm that this set has one Lilac 2x4 brick.
It is different than the brick in 4411.

Neat find! These will surely sell fast.
