So, I am packing up my

Set No: 10937 Name: Arkham Asylum Breakout
*
10937-1 (Inv) Arkham Asylum Breakout
1585 Parts, 8 Minifigures, 1 Book, 2012
Sets: Super Heroes: Batman II

and not only are the Dark Reds all brittle, but there are 2 distinct shades of
Light Bluish Gray. The wedge plate in the back is actually Light Gray. I would
worry if I sold these off-colored ones that my customers would say I shipped
the wrong color. So many pitfalls for sellers to fall into with bricks from this
era!

Looks like the set has been left in the sun. Might be some discoloring. Up to
you how you sell them though.

No. Not at all. And the pieces are all evenly discolored. Discoloration from
sunlight looks completely different.

Yup, I recently cracked open 10x 9490 and about 10% of the LBG parts were so
light they almost looked like light gray unless you had a light gray part to
compare them to. Sadly even brand new I relegated them to my used collection
rather than sell and potentially have some annoyed buyers. At least the variation
isn't as extreme as it is with pearl gold parts.

The last ten or so orders I placed, at least four of the sellers had a 'Bley
Disclaimer', to the effect of 'Look, there are soooo many issues with
Bley right now. We strive to do our best, but if you purchase LBG parts from
our store and don't like it, it's on you.' A stance, incidentally,
that I happen to agree with. I don't like it, but I agree with it; that is,
I understand why the sellers felt they had to make such a statement.

Jen, one of the things I love about your store's Splash page is the illustrated
comparison between Shiny Used, Shows Playwear, and Poor conditions. You may consider
including the bleys photo on the page as well, with a disclaimer of your own.
Wha'dya think?

Thanks!
That might be a good idea...I normally attempt to describe each lot, but an additional
message and image sure couldn't hurt.

I had the exact same thing happen with a couple of architecture sets. Notably:
21016 Sungnyemun and Imperial Hotel 21017-1

2012-2013 at least suffered from this. I'm guessing specific parts were
manufactured in lower cost areas. I noticed consistent discoloration on tiles,
and 1x3 plates among others. Definitely not sun damage as the entire part is
discolored (even what would have been covered by other bricks when built).

I do actually dwell on this and the stress lines we're talking about in the
other thread. I know I'm over thinking it and ideally these things turn
over fast enough for it to not be a problem, but it's why I started taking
photos of some of the bad bricks for a new section on my terms page.

Initially I did it to explain how I do my best to remove these while parting
out, but considering the high value sets I have parked in the stockroom for a
few years I feel like I need it to explain that things can be hit or miss.
