Nope!
You mean colors will only be changed if proof came from sealed sets?
This inventory was confirmed based on Sealed Set contents July 12, 2007 after
changing only the Axe Head to Pearl Light Gray, not the Sword. After that the
shield was changed in 2014. How can you miss that?! So what does it mean when
someone says it's based on a sealed set, or even confirms the inventory based
on a sealed set?
So this so called Sealed set that was used doesn't convince me that these
parts exist in the current colors. As for the Crown, no one ever found a Pearl
Light Gold one.
Maybe the images below will convince you, that changes can be made based on used
boxed set contents  Especially since all 3 parts only came in this set.
Catalog Change request will follow.

PS:
The slopes are darker, but we know about the 3 shades of Pearl Gold.
Pearl Gold Bricks above the Pearl Gold Slopes.
Reddish Gold (ex Copper) Crown on the left.
Shield was already changed to Pearl Gold.
Last image shows Flat Silver parts and a Pearl Light Gray Brick on the right

Not at all.
If we know the parts only come from one set, then I think it can be pretty obvious.
Personally, I don't make color changes or complex variant changes without
sealed sets, but I can understand why others wouldn't want to do that.

Not at all.
If we know the parts only come from one set, then I think it can be pretty obvious.
Personally, I don't make color changes or complex variant changes without
sealed sets, but I can understand why others wouldn't want to do that.

It depends on the set and how much I want to have it in New Condition. I opened
a lot of sealed sets in the past. But nowadays most sealed sets are for sale
far too expensive.

than the Silver parts, then it could be Cool Silver (under both Pearl Light Gray
and Flat Silver), but there isn’t a real precedent when it comes to that color.

Sorry, I don't understand you here. The Shield is Pearl Gold, not silver.
The color of the sword is a bit different from the Axe Head that was already
changed, but both are also a bit different in color from the Leg Armor.
There's a very big difference with the Flat Silver parts though. I just added
images.
Please let me know what you think.
The Sword doesn't look like the catalog image color at all though.
Brickset has PCC 4494487 for Pearl Light Gray
The instruction has PCC 4277403 on Bricklink as Flat Silver
So should I change it to Pearl Light Gray as alternate for Flat Silver?

Oops, I meant sword. Good catch!
The axe head on the right is Cool Silver. This set probably had alternates for
that item.
I can’t tell if the sword is closer in color to the axe head on the right or
the axe head on the left, but all silver items in this set appeared in both Silver
and Cool Silver.
