| I made an order in a store and paid the order. I got a message that some items
are not in the store, AFTER they said they sent the order. Shouldn't they
let me know some items weren't available? Maybe cancel the order?

Yes, a good store would let you know they were unable to fill the order prior
to shipping. Then give you the choice as to how you wanted to proceed from there.

If they've already sent the order, they're obligated to send you a refund
for the parts they haven't or weren't able to send.

See, I do not like that part as there is also an additional shipping charge involved
to get the parts you need. I do not mind if they are short one or two pieces,
things happen and we are all human, but I had an order where 50% of the items
was missing and I was not even told, so I was out shipping and had no parts.
So yes, they should let the customer know before they ship, so a decision can
be made if it is worth shipping at all.

Yes, a good store would tell you before posting them.
Ask for a refund for those items, and possibly also a refund of part of the postage
especially if they are key items that now need to be ordered elsewhere.

| If the parts that were missing are the parts you really need then I request a
shipping label to send the back at the sellers expense and full refund. If they
refuse paypal will make them and next time they ask first.

AS others have mentioned, good sellers would offer you a choice of how to handle
missing items after payment BEFORE anything is shipped. This is exactly what
i have in my terms. We offer 4 choices and the majority of buyers ask for the
refund of the missing parts (We add in a bit for shipping as well) which we either
do through the original payment or by cash in the package. A small percent have
asked to cancel the order which we do at no penalty to the buyer as it was our
fault the parts were missing or the inventory was wrong.
Moving forward, I would have a conversation with the seller about how they plan
to compensate you for the missing parts and if there is no response or not a
good response, then I would open a PP case for non receipt of goods ordered.
At the very least, the seller should offer you a refund on the missing parts
+ a portion (percent ) of the shipping costs. They cannot just ship you a partial
order and then tell you xyz parts are missing.
