So I made an order for 2 collectible minifigs listed as new/complete and I didn't
get the inserts or packaging with them. I messaged the seller and I will post
pictures of the exact messages.

Am I wrong in thinking this shouldn't be that difficult? Am I being the jerk
here? Honest question, because this entire exchange seems a bit insane to me.

You bought miniifgs or "sets" ? That's makes all the difference here.

So the seller made a mistake, that happends. But he's offering a refund,
there's nothing he does that warrants a negative FB. Why not play ball ?
I think you're anger is clouding your jugement.

If he did a mistake and he's willing to correct it, accept and move on. With
your attitude and threat of unwarranted negative feedback, you're the one
in the wrong IMO.

Are you sure he made a mistake? As far as I'm aware, as long as you have
all the contents found in the inventory of the set, you can list it as complete.
Sealed would include the original packaging. For example, I just listed a bunch
of collectable minifigures. I got rid of the torn foil bags, but listed the sets
as complete. As far as I know, I have not listed them incorrectly. I state in
the description that there is no foil bag just so the buyer 100% knows, but I
don't think I've done anything incorrectly.

If I have a 10 year old 2,000 piece used set that I decide to sell from my personal
collection, and all the pieces are accounted for, I'm not forced to list
it as incomplete just because I don't have the instructions or box. To
me, that's the difference between "Sealed" and "Complete". This is how I've
always done it without a problem. But then again, I've rarely sold sets,
let alone unsealed sets, so if I am truly in the wrong, can a few of you please
point it out.

He wants the used toil bags ???? I missed that part... That's kinda weird
and should NOT be included with a complete collectible "set". I thought he was
only missing the ustensils... I guess there was way to much to read.

Whether any of us believe that the packaging should be included or not, it is
to be included per Bricklink rules. Under Items For Sale Conditions for New
Sets they state, "Complete - Contents are brand new and may have been removed
from their plastic bags and handled for inventorying purposes only. Includes
all contents that originally came with set including extra parts, stickers, instructions
(if any) and original box/packaging." My new Collectible Minifigure
sets are sold with their opened packaging.

I thought that this requirement only applied to sets, not complete minifigures.

Technically we are both correct. It depends on how they are listed. They can
be listed as a set or a minifigure. If they are listed as a set, like what
the original poster showed, then they follow the rules for a set. If they are
listed as a minifigure, then they fall under the minfigure conditions.

Okay, thanks. Today I learned that minifigs can be listed as sets.

Okay, thanks. Today I learned that minifigs can be listed as sets.

Only in the rare case that the minifig is the only thing in the set. In the case
of CMF, there is an instruction sheet, display plate and accessories the latter
two should be included for used and all for new. Strictly tge packaging should
also be included for new but often buyers don't want this.

Since you asked, yes, you are being a bit of a jerk. He made a mistake, and is
clearly owning up to the problem and willing to fix the problem.

"Take time to send it back?" Please, it took you longer to write all those messages
than it'll take to repackage the order.

What do you expect him to do? Refund you in full AND let you keep the figures?
That hardly seems fair. He offered to send you the booklets, why didn't you
accept?

To be honest, you're making a big deal out of a little problem. I would not
leave negative feedback as by his responses he is having wonderful customer service
in willing to fix his mistake. You, however, are being a bit uncooperative. Accept
his offer, you can't get a better one.

1. Not sure the seller made a listing mistake here. I always thought that as
long as the minifig was a "Complete Set with Stand and Accessories" it could
be sold as complete even without the leaflet and bag. based on the responses
it looks like there's some confusion
about this.

2. Seller asked you to "write return to sender" on the packages. No return postage
is due. You could leave them in your mailbox or give them to the mailman. You
already spent alot more time writing all those emails back and forth.

3. Seller offered to mail you the inserts.

4. Despite the seller's efforts, you threaten negative feedback as well as
an NSS. Why?

What more are you looking for? Did you expect to keep the minifigs and get a
refund as well?

No, I had zero interest in a real refund. The general consensus is that I'm
a jerk and I've apologized to the sender.

Basically I didn't know there was any confusion on sets vs minifigures, and
I try to collect the inserts/bags for each one as a set for my collection. That
said as I didn't realize there was a confusion how they work I jumped the
gun in assuming they should have admitted they screwed up in the first message,
instead of me having to prove they did.

Clearly I've learned collectible Minifigures and the set rules have confused
a lot of people.

I would expect the leaflet if it wasn't stated as missing for a new but not
sealed set. A seller should really also indicate no packaging if this is missing,
although this could vary from a carefully opened pack so you don't see the
opening through to a ripped up bag so may be less expected.

I once had a buyer complain I had sent them my rubbish by including the opened
bags.
