| Could we have a more complete original box description in the catalogue?
Currently there is only a, not always good, picture of the box and measurements.
The current boxes are usually only a simple, 1 layer, cardboard box with pictures
on all sides.
But the older boxes can be a cardboard sleave with inner box (and what colour
is the inner box). And possible one or more inner trays (plastic of a certain
colour).
And the older (train) sets may have the flap/lid and a see through cover.
I am currently processing some older train sets. And there are some with original
boxes (or parts thereof). But I have no way of knowing if the box I have is complete.
Is the outer box I have all there ever was, or does it also need a inner box
or tray?
So I would like to suggest:
-add more pictures of original packaging
-add a full description using some standard terms (to be determined)
Of course this would need some effort from the bricklink community to add this
information to the catalogue.

What I'd like to see is for boxes to have inventories. This would allow
sellers to list individual components as described above, and for buyers to search
for and purchase those components. A multi-part box with one or more components
missing would be listed as 'incomplete' in the same way that sets are.

This is not something that the catalog team can do. It requires recoding the
website. But it has been suggested multiple times, as the above messages demonstrate.

| I doubt there is much point from a selling/buying point of view, given the changes
that will be needed. A new set will have all the interior boxes. A complete used
set doesn't need them, and you can just say what boxes are included.
