Is there any good reference or way for me to tale a color ID which appears no
longer being produce to find a current color that is still in production

Color = 194 - Medium stone grey -
199 Dark Stone Grey

These are generally called:
Light Bluish Gray (modern) or Light Gray (retired)
Dark Bluish Gray (modern) or Dark Gray (retired)
on Bricklink.
The retired colors are still very widely available on Bricklink.

The modern varieties have a slight blue tinge, the retired varieties nigh to
yellowish and brown.
