| Please make changes to the following inventory:
* Delete 8 Part 3036 Light Gray Plate 6 x 8 (match ID 1)
* Delete 1 Part 3456 Light Gray Plate 6 x 14 (match ID 1)
* Change 7 Part Light Gray 3036 Plate 6 x 8 {Alternate to Regular} {match ID 1 to 0}
* Change 1 Part Light Gray 3033 Plate 6 x 10 {Alternate to Regular} {match ID 1 to 0}
* Change 1 Part Light Gray 3028 Plate 6 x 12 {Alternate to Regular} {match ID 1 to 0}

The box art clearly shows that one light gray
and one light gray
are used on the roof. I believe this is an evidence that the inventory of this
set was changed before the first production run as the box art shows it.
By the way, my neat used copy also confirm this. I think this inventory request
should be accepted and it is correct. If one day, somebody finds a reliable evidence
that this set came with the light gray plates shown in the instructions, then
we can switch this back (but I doubt)
If you need a high quality photo of the box, let me know.

I have looked at photos of used sets and did not find any with the 6x14 plate.
At least none where the photo quality was good enough to recognize the individual
plates. Some photos where very low quality so I could not determine which plates
were used in those sets.

Anyway, I remember clearly that two of my childhood sets came with other bricks
than the instructions showed. One was this set and it were indeed the light gray
roof plates in question. 
BTW - the other set was 928, that also had a different LG plate, but I can't
find anyone that has been able to confirm this in other sets than mine.

The inventory note is correct. I remember when these were added to the inventory.
The original post is purged, but there were several very good cases where this
alternate plate combination had been found.
We wouldn't consider it another version of the set, though, unless we could
find another version of the instructions.

If that's true, shouldn't the alternates then be added to the inventory
again? Again, why would you make a reference a match ID that does not exist?
