OK now. Fred is trying to have these parts merged, and you are trying to change
the one type to another in an inventory. What gives? 
Seriously, though, what is the difference between 3230 and 3230a or between
3229 and 3229a?

I guess that depends on which way they are merged, towards the 'a' entries
or towards the blank entries.

I guess that depends on which way they are merged, towards the 'a' entries
or towards the blank entries.

Actually, it looks like 3229 and 3230 should be marked for deletion and not merged.

‘b’ doesn’t exist in Blue but it exists in Light Gray.
That’s the reason why ‘a’ and ‘b’ versions exist.
‘not-a-not-b’ should have been ‘u’ndetermined, and then deleted.

Thank you, Reza. I had not realized there were 'b' versions in the catalog.
Fred's request to merge the blank entries with the 'a' entries confused
me. The blank entries really need to be marked for deletion instead of merged.
