I am currently in the process of researching the possibility of this request
based on set and part timelines. I will let you know the outcome of that research
when it is completed. Thank you for your patience!

Cheers,
Randy

Dear Randy,

I believe the submitter wants to add
[p=3626bp01]
not
[p=3626b]

I have photos of many MISB sets. Personally, I have not seen blocked open stud
head in any release on 1990 or before.
Unfortunately I am away from my own childhood collection otherwise I could check
my pirate set 6267-1 that I bought in 1991 and came with a catalog of 1991 too.

Thank you for your input, but I don't think that is what they are trying
to do. The request specifically states that they are trying to add an alternate
for the trans-clear head that is used to build the water bottle (or whatever
it is) in the set.

Cheers,
Randy

OK, here is what I found.

The set being referred to was at least sold in the UK through 1991 based on the
1991 UK catalog (although advertised under a different name of "St. Mary's
Hospital"): https://images.brickset.com/library/view/?f=catalogues/c91uk&p=26

The origin of the 3626b-style head seems to be around the 1990-1991 period.

Therefore, the times for these two overlap, and it is very likely that the 3626b-style
head would have showed up in later production runs of the set.

On another note, the submitter informed me that the head in question in this
request is none other than the one posted here: https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1115430

If that does not look like an early prototype for the blocked open stud head,
then I don't know what would be.

In conclusion, this request will be accepted, and we have an amazing new find
of an early version of the blocked open stud.

Cheers,
Randy
