The set 7735 was released between 1985-90.
The motor type 3 (currently called bb12vb) was replaced by type 4 variant (currently
called bb12vc) since 1988.
In the photo, we can see the photos of a MISB 7735 for sale on Ebay in which
the motor type 4 can be seen (hard to distinguish the slotted holes!)

The slotted holes are located on the left side of the photos. The cutted edge
is visible, though hardly. On the photo 4, I drew a line that shows that the
edge is cut, making the edge too close to the studs. (compare with photo 5 and
also 3).

P.S. Did Dan consider a prize for a correct inventory change request supported
with a photo of worst quality?

This is another 7735 in MIB/MISB condition for sale on Ebay few weeks ago. The
seller sent me photos of the motor.
The seller had sets also 7725 and 7740 but these sets didn't have motor of
type 4 (currently called bb12vc). Specialy, the production date of motor is 28
0 (28th week in 1990). Apparently, this set was one of the latest release of
this set.

Another 7735 that was on sale on Ebay. The parts appear to be near new condition,
the sleepers are in their sealed bag, however the set is incomplete. The motor
is also look very new and is of type 4.

This is another 7735 for sale on ebay from Belgium.
The set appears to be near new seems it was not much played with. The seller
sent me the photos of the motor which is of type 4.
He also sent me the photos of the part 2731a. As I insisted that this part might
be wrong and be 2731b, he also insisted that he bought the set from loft of a
house and it was in a very good condition and there were no other train set in
that house, so he was sure that 2731a came with this set.
Having done more investigation, we now believe that the part 2731a came with
the latest releases of 7735 (like this set) and 7745, but its variant 2731b came
with releases in 1986 and 1987.
The part 2731b is still not included in any set. We are sure it came with 7735
and 7745. We are also sure that it was 2731a that came in latest releases of
7735 and 7745 but it is not clear when and which part came between 1986-7. (in
1985, it was 3241c that came with 7735 and 7745, in place of 2731a or 2731b but
it is not yet listed in the inventory of 7735 neither 7745)
The part 3241c was replaced by 2731a or 2731b since 1986 (the copy right year
of paper 117983b proves this)

I never spoke to him at all, not even once - in person, by phone, by mail, or
by message. Therefore, I genuinely have no idea what he considered or did not
consider.

Your request seems valid, though, and I have approved it.

In the absence of Dan, you could consider a prize?
Do you recall any inv. change request supported with a photo of worse quality
than mine?!

I am still wondering how you rejected my request to add the hinges of hollow
studs to this set that was released until the end of 1990? (In one of these photos,
we can see the date of production of motor which is mid 1990, so there were at
least one production run in 1990 and therefore it was a popular set)

For 7735 and 7745, I seriously doubt if the hinges of solid studs came with them.
I have even got sets in original conditions from 1985-6 coming with ones with
hollow studs.
Having worked with the inventories of these sets, I can say that their inventories
were submitted by checking the instructions. None were made by opening a set.
However, since 2015 some nice changes were made by Morris (lego.12vtrains) and
elias3,... making the inventories much better.

Concerning your comment on the changes made for 7824, I have NO trust on the
inventories themselved and any inv. changes made before 2015. Many changes were
ridiculous. Like, how the part

Part No: 2731a Name: Train, Track 12V Conducting Rail Curved with Connection Wire and Short Connector
*
2731a Train, Track 12V Conducting Rail Curved with Connection Wire and Short Connector
Parts: Train, Track
released first in 1986 (or later?) appeared in the inv. of 7725 which was released
between 1981-84?
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogInvChangeItem.asp?itemType=S&itemNo=7725-1&viewDate=Y&viewStatus=1

(This part is recently removed.)
This caused collectors adding 2731a to their 7725, sellers listed their set incomplete,...for
about 10 years since 2008. In 2014, this guy wanted to buy all parts of 7725
in new condition:
https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/100022-7725-old-train-new-bricks/
and included 2731a!
https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/100022-7725-old-train-new-bricks/&page=3
He also bought a motor of type 4 (bb12vc) which was first released in 1988.

I hope that by now, you have got more trust on our knowledge and inv. changes.
We have now a group (3-5 people) discussing the inventories and variation of
parts in detail. We have made a list of all parts that should be added or should
be discussed for each set (there are about 50 sets). We have basically three
cases for each part:
1- the inventory of the part X is wrong on the set Y / we have evidence to support
the inv. change request
2- the inventory of the part X is wrong on the set Y / we don't have enough
evidence to support the inv. change request yet
3- we don't know if the inventory of the part X came with the set Y
