| The set released in 1983, the type 2 motor released since 1982 (and probably
before), type 3 since late 1982 (49th week in 1982).
This auction gives evidence:
In the following video, a member of bricklink and a serious collector of 12V
trains buy one in mint condition:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KhmbJRTa3_8&t=151s
See 2:23 for the type 3 of motor.
Also, Johan from store Electrics have seen type 2 used for this motor.(made in
39th week in 1982)

Some comments:
1. To be accurate, since these sets frequently came with the rims already applied,
there should be catalog entries of the motors with the rims already on the wheels.
For an example, see how this wheel:
[P=6230]
is inventoried as a complete assembly in this set, showing how it appeared in
a new set:
2. It would be great if you would create a couple of high-quality comparison
photos of the different kinds of motors which could be added to each motor entry
as an alternate image. Here is an example of the kind of comparison image I'd
like to see (the large image which shows all four parts together):
Ideally, you could create two photos - one of the four motor variations from
the top and one from the front (or even additional images from all sides - catalog
entries can have multiple alternate images).

Also, if bb12v is an undetermined entry, then that information should be added
to the catalog entry. See:

| I disagree with putting photos in which the trainrims are applied for the following
reason:
1) almos all trainrims have perished. Those are not yet perished can be considered
as a magic thing. I personally have few trainrims, maybe less than 10. For making
the photos as you requested I would need 28 trainrims.
People use, buy and sell new replica trainrims, as there is no other option.
2) in the video of 7865, the trainrims are not applied. In photos of set 7725,
7750,...I have seen 4 of them applied but not to the middle wheels. (middle wheels
don't get power from motor. They are there just to make the motor pretty)
So trianrims are not always already applied.
3) trainrims are separate parts. Why should they be included in the photos of
catalog entries?
Is this fair?
How did you find my photos? how do you find:
- the background
- the yellow tiles 1, 2, 3, 4?
- the shadows that I tried to minimize/
I think in such a photo, the middle wheels should be assembled to the motor.
They are separate parts. I can take new photos in the way you request.

Comparison motor photos do not need to have the rims applied.
| So trianrims are not always already applied.
|
Agreed. Sometimes they are, though.
| 3) trainrims are separate parts. Why should they be included in the photos of

|
They should be included in some sets because that's how they came new in
some sets. For other sets, we already have catalog entries showing how they
would have originally came.
| How did you find my photos? how do you find:

It's fine.
| - the yellow tiles 1, 2, 3, 4?
|
Those are helpful for our discussion, but they should not be included in a catalog
image. Instead, the image should have notations added in after the image is
taken. Please see this part once more - it really is an absolutely perfect example
of a proper comparison image:
| - the shadows that I tried to minimize/
|
Yes, that's fine.

|
Remember the purpose of the image is merely to help people like me easily distinguish
the different types of motors. No extra parts should be attached to the motors
for a comparison image.

| For future reference, I am providing photos of a MISB 7727, coming with type
2 red motor. The request to split bb12vb is already submitted. Once approved,
the motor type 2 (as in the photo) should be regular and the motor type 3 as
alternate (the last type of red motor, used only for this set)
As you can see, the rims were not mounted to the wheels of red motor, neither
it was the case for the sets 7760, 7725, 7735, 7745, 7755 or 7865. It was a particular
thing for the set 7750, as far as I know.
Let me add:
The store BLUXE generuously provided me many photos of his sealed or MISB sets,
including this once. A word of thanks in French:
Je remercie le propriétaire de BLUXE, a la place des tous les enthousiasts des
anciens trains 12V, pour le temps dévoté à répondre à mes emails et prendre des
photos et me les passera fin qu'on puisse d'améliorer les listes des
piéces pour les trains de 12V.
