| This has probably been suggested before, but just in case it hasn't:
I would like the addition of "Leave Open" as a selection for the order status
pull-down menu. That way, when a buyer has asked me to leave the order open,
I can select that. None of the other selections seem right, and then I keep trying
to process it when I have selected 'processing' or 'pending',
and I don't want that. 'Ready' isn't correct, since I only want
to select that when I have the other pulled and invoiced.

I use the grey color on my shipping settings to designate "leave orders open"
from regular pending orders. But I would prefer a separate status

That's a good way, too. However, both of our methods are unseen by the buyer
(aren't they?) and I really would like that option in the pull-down menu
instead, so the buyer knows I have acknowledged his/her wishes to leave it open.

| I agree, this would be really useful. I'd also love a payment clearing option
so I don't keep trying to send paid orders where payment has not yet been
cleared!

That would be 'sent',wich already is a payment status.

I agree 100%, I brought this up many years ago and it did not go anywhere then.
But I would like to add this. I see it as a way for the buyer to remember that
they asked for it to be left open and are not wondering why they have not received
an invoice.

Add a shipping method named "hold open". Buyers select this when initially checking
out. When they checkout their last batch, they simply change the shipping to
whichever method they want.
