It would be very useful to have the ability to stay logged in instead of having
to log in every time.

Admittingly without being aware of any technical and security related implications
of this, I fully agree! Voted yes.

I am actually quite surprised at how long BL keeps me logged in for when i am
parting out a set!

But wasn't the automatic log-out brought in after the site was hacked and
vandalised a few years back?

Pretty sure it was following that, because I remember prior to the hack logging
in and staying logged in almost perpetually.

Still, I agree with OP that it would sure be convenient (even with the password
saved in the broswer!)

Yes.

It is recommended by security experts that users not be allowed to stay logged
in.
I am not sure what the current time recommendations are, for various types of
systems, but the times seem to be getting shorter.
