I would love to be able to drive sales through my Brick Link store by posting
ads on my blog. It would be great if the ad could show the picture of my item,
and the price. If the visitor clicks the ad, it takes them directly to the page
where they can buy this item. This would be fantastic for sellers and buyers
alike.

It would be even better if it was built to work as a Wordpress widget!

You can create a URL manually if that would work for you (until something better
comes along). To do this:

- Go to your store, and go to the category of the item you wish to link to,
and make sure you see the item in the right hand side of your page. I will pick
your 9V Santa Fe set (cause I think it is cool).
- Hover over the little picture of the set. It will show a little text popup
with a "lot ID". Write down this lot ID (in this case, 34392226).
- The direct link from anywhere to a page that shows this item is now:
http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=ebrouwer&itemID=34392226

Note that the "p=xxxx" denotes your shop (why BL uses the user name instead of
the shop name or shop ID baffles me), and "itemID=xxxx" is the reference to
your item for sale.

No need to write anything down. Just click on the lot id and copy the url:

Hmmm... I have a Mac. When I click on the links it creates a download, but
when I open the download, it says the document is blank.

Maybe your Mac can not handle .txt files?

Of course it can handle .txt files. That link is downloading .xml files though.
This is the error I receive in Safari when I try to open the file:

This page contains the following errors:

error on line 1 at column 1: Document is empty
Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error.

Not here.
If I try to download categories, colors or item types it always downloads .txt
files.
categories.txt colors.txt itemtypes.txt

Yes, this works in Firefox. When can we expect to see a fix for Safari?
