Hi.

A long time ago, when you clicked on "view cart", the estimated weight of the
items chosen by you was available, which helped buyers to know how expensive
the shipping could be.

Will that functionality be enabled again?

Thanks.

José.

Most sellers allow to see cart weights, some don't, you probably encountered
one that doesn't, so there is nothing to change in those regards. Pick another
seller who displays it or request a quote from the seller first (if active in
the sellers store).
Never actually understood why sellers block cartweights, how can buyers judge
over a possible order then or fine tune' their cart based on displayed shippingcosts
(if any)

The few times I've heard explanations is that "we don't want buyers thinking
that will be the weight of the package when we give them a shipping amount"

The few times I've heard explanations is that "we don't want buyers thinking
that will be the weight of the package when we give them a shipping amount"

Multiple sellers have found solutions to this.
Some sellers just include estimated packaging in their weight/price tables.

At least one seller has the weights, of the various types of packaging, shown
on the splash (or terms) page.

I have emptied a LOT of carts (instead of completing check out) due to no weights
in carts.
I will still buy a few small items from these sellers, if they have a much better
price or availability than the other sellers.
I did that yesterday, but the seller still lost additional business from me because
I didn't do my usual check of the store for anything else on my wanted list.

The weight is still showing in the cart for me. Is this happening with just one
seller or several? It is possible the seller has not selected to allow the estimated
weight to be shown in the cart or none of the items you have in your cart have
a weight in the catalog.

Some of us sellers disable that feature since it's misleading and inaccurate.
I mostly deal in sets and they will never ship by weight only by volume. So
no sense misleading things at all. And I am pretty sure even parts seller will
say that it's not 100% accurate in that parts have changed weights as LEGO
thins things out - so if anyone uses a new part to set weights vs older parts
- a batch of older stuff in the 1000s of quantity will be weighing a bit more
than expected.

Heck I used to have people wanting to ship a 2Kg set for 2Kg rating. Ah you
need a shipping box - at least .2-.4 Kg added on - and since by volume - probably
closer to 7-8Kg shipping weight. NOW you can see the problems and it's why
I don't even put in a sheet of rates - too confusing unless you know about
cubing of sets/shipping boxes I have etc.
