It's probably not just me, but I get a lot of orders from buyers with 0-5
feedback. I try and walk them through the 2 step payment process on BrickLink
when they have questions. Most of the time they figure it out just fine.

My suggestion is that maybe BrickLink can auto-send a welcome email to any newly
registered user as soon as they place their first order.

Something like "Welcome to BrickLink, thanks for placing your first order, please
wait for the seller to invoice you, in most cases they need to add on shipping
and then send you a total, etc."
Not sure if suggestions are being heard, but I thought this would be a simple
enough function and it could prevent some new buyers from instantly paying the
subtotal. I'm still not sure how they figure that one out. Do they see my
email address from the order placed and just assume sending funds to that address
is the correct way to pay? Seems like a risky proposition.

Chris,

While I share these problems, most people have the bricklink e-mails going to
their junk mail for a while and they don't get ANY messages from BL because
they aren't checking them.

only automated check out would really solve this...

Chris,

I haven't received pre-invoice payments in quite some time. Have you updated
the order notification email from the default one? I changed the top line after
the title to say this:

(BUYERUSERNAME) bought some LEGO from (SELLERSTORENAME)!
Brock will send (BUYERUSERNAME) an invoice within the next 24 hours with the grand total for the order including shipping.

Once I did this, I found a lot fewer pre-payment errors occurred. The whole 'contact
within 3 days' thing is a bit ambiguous and I felt it was cause for some
confusion.

Still finding new sectors of this site I never knew existed. Changed that message
to something less formal but more informational.

Thanks Brock, see you next month.
