| Hi,
I think it would be cool/helpful to have a system in Brick Link where you keep
your money, so Person A could buy something from person B, send him money, it
goes in Person B's BL Account, and BAM!
What do YOU think?

| I think he was thinking of BL having it's own Paypal like system.
Users could send money to and from an assigned bank account and then make payments
internally.
However, given the past problems of hacking and the site's security at this
point this is probably a miserable idea at the time.
let's call it BrickPal and see how long it takes for the Ebay conglomerate
to attack.

Bitcoins is a currency. (At least according to recent testimony before the US
Congressional Banking Committees!) There is nothing in the laws of our land preventing
someone from starting an alternative currency. Provided, of course, that its
primary use is as a currency and not as the basis for fraud.
Brickpal would be a bank-like entity. Chances of Brickpal being approved are
virtually nil.
I like the idea of people submitting catalog items, acting as admins, and helping
newbie's as a way to earn brickcoins. Someone would need to allow others
to purchase goods or services with them. I seem to recall a similar set of features
on some other site.

At least the way the site is now with the previous security problems, I would
say no and never use it until changes are made to BL in general to make it more
secure.

I think that this comes with a much higher risk than I would be open to.
While it could save on money transfer fees for those who both buy and sell, it
is of little value to those who do only one, or significantly more value of one
than the other.
If someone else wanted to set up their own currency, and sellers wanted to accept
that currency, there is nothing stopping them from trying.

I think it is extremely high risk, and if I owned BL I would not touch this.
As a user of BL I would not choose to use this if it were offered.
Also,
No one is dependent on BL for this type of system.
IF someone wants to manage such a currency pool, set one up, and get sellers
and buyers to agree to use it.

I honestly don't think Bricklink would be interested in it anyway.
If they wanted to do the work for it, they would have to set up an entire infrastructure
to support it and it wouldn't be free, it would need to be a money generator..
So if the goal was to get around paypal fees, that won't happen

That's a lot more complex than it sounds, legally and programmatically. There's
a reason that almost everyone outsources payments.
