Please add a special case for boxes defining them as either "Used upon opening"
"New only if obtained directly from LEGO without contents" or "New if
seals broken and flat stored" "Used if cardboard damaged/cut to open set"

http://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=102

I am not taking a position as to which of these two cases should be added
in this suggestion, just that a clear definition should be made.

(I will also make suggestions for used only condition and used/new)

How will that impact sets from 1966-80 where shrinkwrap on the outer box is considered
the seal?

Or sets before 1966 where the (non-sealed) box top comes off to show the seal
being the shrinkwrap on the lower box? (See below).

And then there are the spare parts packs before 1972 that often had no seal whatsoever
to speak of?

Cheers,
Gary Istok

I don't know, perhaps if you added a clear definition to deal with these situations
(that's what this thread is for) then we'll have an idea how to deal with them.

Don't you, Rob, remember reading many months back (I'll try to do like you did
and post a link) where it was brought up to start adding "classifications" to
older items and nothing was ever done?

Has ANY suggestion ever been implemented?

I think Robert from the UK said it best (although he was referring to just boxes
and not suggestions in general on BL) that it is a 'daft' (moot?) point...

But then again, many BL sellers are RESELLERS and are ignorant of older items....to
them ALL LEGO items come sealed....
