Since one of the problem seems to be the lack of knowledge on how the system
works, why not include a tutorial in BrickLink?

But lets not limit it to new members who just recently joined the site with their
green helmets. Make it available for members who are have not yet been here for
at least 1 full year (complete 365 days).

Tutorial Include simple basics:
1) Catalog/Inventory System (click-boxes next to each category explaining
in detail the difference between sets, parts, and minifigures, what Used/New
means, what Incomplete/Complete means, and then further expand on the fact that
certain sellers will have differences to what is listed in the catalog)

2) TOS (with a click-box next to each section the member has to click
in agreement before activation or re-activation of Buyer/Seller priveleges...
Im sure this will sound familiar to the veterans)

You have proven the point that BL can be overwhelming. A veteran user did not
know there already is a new user tutorial: http://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?topicID=35

I'm all up for making it more visible though.

My bad, sorry. Yes, it would be great to expand it. It would also be super to
make it a tab on the My Bricklick Page and not leave it hidden in a basement
in an unmarked filing cabinet in a lavatory with a sign on the door that says
"beware of the leopard" My HHGG quoting power is off this morning

Also the whole Click-Box thing is so that BrickLink as a system is aware that
said member has at the very least skimmed through the TOS and Catalog. Temporarily
suspending their buyer/seller privilages until clicking on those agreement click-boxes
should ensure they actually look at the Tutorial before moving on.

Also this may also serve as a hassle to problematic member has to go through
again should they create new accounts after getting ban-hammered off BrickLink.

I was actually thinking of starting a blog about BrickLink, which would include
the sorts of things you talk about.
