| I'd like to be able to set timers. Hear me out. I want to be able to automatically
set a sale for 24-48 hours. Whether it's the whole store, or selected groups
or lots, this would be handy. I wouldn't have to remember to begin or end
a sale with this option. Scheduling could be setup, if I'm out of town for
a weekend and returning Sunday night, I could schedule a sale starting Sunday
afternoon, automatically.
Also, I'd like to be able to set a timer if, say, a Buyer wants to cut a
deal on a certain lot of parts. I could set this up to reserve the items in question
for a certain time period, say 24 hours at whatever price we've discussed.
Take it or leave it, price goes back to original after X amount of time.
Let me know what you think. Thanks!

| Seller after seller falls into difficult times and finds they really need to
close their store to stem the tide of new orders.
If sellers have 20/20 foresight and can tell the future, they know when to shutdown
their store *before* they become sick, before that car accident that leaves them
in a coma in the hospital, before the massive power outage that shuts down their
city.
How many sellers on BL are great at predicting the future?
I know I'm not. Otherwise I would have shut my store down BEFORE the massive
power outage that is currently affecting my area.
My suggestion is this: Change the current lower minimum time on auto-shutdown
of av store from 3 days to something more realistic like 1 day ....or even 12
hours.
Technically, I can't see BL having a problem with that ... they auto-disconnect
users after 15 - 30 minutes of browser inactivity and preform daily site maintenance.
Surely doing a daily check on stores that have not been active in the last 24
hours (only for those sellers who actively select that time frame), is possible.
BL may have some philosophical or ethical reason for this 3 day limit, but I
can not see what it could be.
The current 3 day limit only exacerbates the situation and does not make for
happy buyers or sellers. Buyers are unhappy because their sellers are ignoring
them; Sellers are unhappy as is soon as they are back on their feet physically
or electronically, they may have to go into over-drive to process the backlog
of orders that occurred before they could shutdown their store
Who knows more about when and how often a given seller logs into his/her store?
The store owner or BrickLink?
Grumpy seller still without power after 1.5 days ...and 3 new orders to process
when I do get power back

| Hi
I think it would be a good idea to add also inventory for original boxes. Especially
in the past, boxes in more complexed sets contained unique cardboard trays, cardboard
support elemnts for plastic inserts, another separate mini boxes (like in 6285
set) or 1 or 2 plastic transparent or coloured inserts/trays. I have many sets
with original boxes and I discovered, that many parts of boxes have also separate
numbers!
For many lego collectors it would be nice to know, if in a box they want to buy
there is everything or what part of box is missing.
I can help to take a pictures of box contents I have, to measure their dimensions
and define colours.
Adding to inventory original catalouges and posters would be nice too, but in
many countries there ware different type of catalouges inside the same box, so
it would be hard to define all catalouges to every box.
Please take my request into consideration, let's make Bricklink the best
lego inventory site!

These are bright green, not green. The small images that are present in BL for bright green are the same colour as these for the green versions; these ONLY exist in bright green.

| BrickLink should prohibit vigilante orders like the one noted in this thread:

Vigilante orders are bogus orders members place with a store they believe to
be a scammer with the intent to protect other members from being scammed before
BrickLink has time to act on any complaints about such a store. While vigilantes
may claim their intentions are good, I believe there are too many risks and potential
problems with self-appointing oneself as cop, prosecutor, judge and jury in such
a manner.
For one thing, the vigilante may turn out to be incorrect in believing a new
seller to be a scammer. By placing his bogus order, the vigilante harms the new
seller, buyers who might otherwise order from such seller, and the vigilante
himself who now risks an NPB or legal action for breach of contract.
Second, these vigilante orders mess up the Price Guide by validating the bogus
prices to the detriment of others who rely on the Price Guide later.
As others said, two wrongs don't make a right. Placing an order is a binding
contract and, regardless of your reasons, it is just plain wrong to place an
order without any intent of following through with it.
Allowing these vigilante orders will create further problems down the road. If
you justify vigilante orders for new sellers who are thought to be scammers,
someone later on will justify them for not-so-new sellers whose terms they subjectively
believe are invalid, or for seller they think take too long to ship, or for sellers
they believe don't honor PayPal's terms, etc., etc. Once you allow these
vigilante orders, where do you draw the line?
BrickLink should never delegate to any member the power to shut down a store.
Allowing these vigilante orders would effectively make every member an Admin
with the ability to shut down any store they want if they subjectively feel they
are helping other members by doing so. This is a dangerous slippery slope that
should stay exclusively within BrickLink's power.
As such, any member caught making a vigilante order should receive an automatic
NPB.
