Does anyone know where to look for this information?

It was a Shell promotional set, so probably the same year or one year later.

Ok thanks. I just purchased a new seal copy and was doing some research on it.

Hello,
I bought 2 LEGO Mosaic sets with photoes of my kids in NY on 5-th avenue, and
as a gift, they included Mosaic instructions for the Statue of Liberty and Empire
State Building. My son has assemble the Statue of Liberty and is super happy
with it, but unfortunately, we printed paper instruction for Empire State Building
got somehow lost. Probably we accidentally threw it with the empty LEGO box.
Does anyone by chance has the instruction and is willing to share the photo of
it?

Best regards and thanks in advance, George

The white and orange Mech/Bionicle build appears to be a mixture of buildable
figure/Bionicle parts rather than one specific build.

  Hi,

I am trying to complete my old Lego sets that are mostly from the 1980s, and
created several wanted lists (1 per set) in order to buy the missing parts.

Question:
How can I be sure that I am buying the (era)correct part?

Example: set "6951 Robot Command Center" from 1984 is missing 1x "Brick,
Round 2 x 2 with Axle Hole" = part 3941 in White.
However, the new part has a 'bottom ring' visible and the original parts
did not have that
(https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=3941&C=1#T=C&C=1).

So when using the 'buy all' option or selection all wanted lists that
I want to buy parts for, how do I know I get the correct part and not the newer
version?

Or has this option fully disappeared from Bricklink now?
In that case: what parts-buying site does still make the distinction between
versions of a part?

Many thanks for your help.
Kind regards,
Menno

Then this entry is missing in the catalog.

Not really. There are loads of minor or unimportant variations that have never
been individually catalogued, just mentioned in notes.

Thank you all for the helpful comments.

I was under the impression that as there is a clear photo of the four different
variations AND there are an equal number of different Item Numbers, they should
be (have been) easy distinguishable...
Also, visually they are different - try to combine original era ones with new
ones and see how (awful) it looks.

Again, all thanks for your replies!

I feel so very old now. Getting one of these was so awesome when they came out.
They didn't come with sets like the new ones do

Some sellers (like myself, though I'm probably too far away for you) sell
in a niche of vintage parts.

I have many parts with notations as to decade made and even what set its pulled
from. I'm sure you can find someone in Europe doing this, perhaps searching
the word "vintage" in shops that interest you. I know that works in mine

Good luck

When I look at bricklink stores I can sort of find heads that suit the purpose,
but what about hands?

Should I be looking for complete minifigs? Or can is it best to find some shop
that has many heads and "torso assemblies" to get the hands I need?

This is my first time dipping into the secondary market of minifigs, so I feel
like I'm in way over my head even for a relatively simple task.

Start with looking at the minifigs from this set to establish some of the available
skin tone colours to search for:-

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=40634-1&viewItemType=M

It contains quite a few different skin tone heads with matching hands. If you
look at the part breakdown of the minifigs you will find the torsos are quite
reasonably priced even if only buying for the hands themselves but once you've
established the colour hands you need to match your heads you can also buy them
separately:-

Welcome to bricklink!
The best way may to be to do some searches like “medium nougat head”, “reddish
brown head”, etc and look thru the options looking at ones that look right to
you and are in your budget then adding them to a wanted list, then for the hands
go to the hand page and choose the colours you want and qty and add them to the
same wanted list. Then navigate to your wanted list and choose buy all and look

I'm helping my mom create a MOC for the prison she works in. We have a good
supply of minifigs of yellow/white skin color, but not very many of darker skin
colors.

Catalog splits this into 2 parts, no further smaller parts.
So I guess not...

I think I have one of those in dark gray somewhere.
If interested, let me know then I'll go looking for it .

Hi!
I have the set 4970 'Chrome Chrusher' from 1999.
The part 30346c01 'Rock Raiders Laser' does not working unfortunately.
I want to restore this part. Can I just the electric parts order? The LED, the
contact part to the battery, etc.
Thank you so much your answers!

Hi,

Min/Max pick all the matches, all the lines shown in the search.

So if one line in you Wanted List matches several lots in the shop, Min/Max will
add the min/max quantity for ALL of them.

That works if the Condition is Any: it matches both New and Used lots.
But it also works that way for the colour Not Applicable: it matches all the
colours in the store.

One may consider that a bug, or a feature. 🤷‍♂️

the quantity. I was wondering if there was a way to search for a store that might
have 50 each of red, white, yellow, green, purple, and pink to total the 300
needed. the 300 can be a mix of any number of colors for my purpose. I also found
that if I choose N/A in the search it give me only 1 result.

Then it’s “even more normal.”  It’s one unique lot and the search/buy algos treats
lots, not parts.

You can’t even distribute the 300 into 6 wanted lists as the search/buy algorithm
combines the lots.

You can only do that manually:
a. exclude them from the search and check in the stores found for the other parts,
b. or make multiple lots in actual colours.

I’d go for (a) if the parts are common and easy to find, and for (b) if they
are more difficult to find or if I want them in high quantities (so that search/Auto-select
can really find cheap parts and not choose them randomly and badly).

Hi,

In Searching, TheHatter13 writes:
I am making a MOC that has a lot of internal bricks that will not be seen. In
my want list I choose not applicable for the pieces. When I go to do a search
it chooses that part all as one color.

Are you saying:
1. You have one WL, with part A & part B (& …) in colour N/A and BL chooses the
same colour for all the parts.
2. You have multiple WL, with part A in colour N/A in both, and BL chooses one
colour for all the WLs.

(1) is just “bad luck.”  The algorithm chooses different colours for me.

(2) is “normal”: the lots are combined for the search.

Is there any way to set this up to use mixed colors? Also is there a way to search
for a store that has a certain amount of a specific part across all colors?

Well, considering we (at least I) have no idea how the colours to fulfill N/A
are chosen¹, I’d encourage you to exclude the N/A lots from your searches / for
Auto-select, and to only look for them once you have candidate stores for the
rest of your parts.
(You can do that:
— by not selecting them in your WL before hiting Buy All (which will then be
“Buy N Selected,”
— or by moving the parts to another WL,
— or using the Wanted Items tab on the left of the Buy page.)

¹ A simple test shows it’s not the cheapest colour in the store.  It’s not the
cheapest in the Price Guide.  It’s not the lot with the highest quantity in the
store.  It’s not the oldest in the store. It seems totally random!  The only
good thing is that it’s not the most expensive either!

No, you can add the same part in multiple colors to your Wantlist.

Hi,

It’s called “part out.”  There’s a link to do just that on the set’s page (below
the “Add to my WL” link).
Or you can use the “Part Out” entry in the Want menu (white heart-shaped icon).

But if you only want the part out price, there’s the part out value here: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogPG.asp
(Market | Price Guide).

Brilliant!! Thank you 🙏☺️

I love the BL search, but i was wondering if we can get a check mark box to the
left of Wishlist heart?
Once we order the part, we can place a check or x in the box to prevent re-ordering
the same parts multiple times. I am trying to complete 6 sets at the same time
to save on shipping, but have found myself ordering the same part several times.
I understand I can do a better job of looking, but a check box would be useful.

The other item I wish to ask for, is to have a line item on the final order (what
we see when we click on the order number) is for a line to state which set this
part ordered came from, similar to the wishlist. or we can add in the set numbers
under the lego item number, prior to making payment. This would allow a better
end user experience.

Any way to upvote this or bring this to the attention of the creators?

Can you help me identify these baby doe's, so I can return them to their
rightful sets? Both heads are clearly marked LEGO both inside of the hollow
stud and inside the head itself. The swaddling blankets were already on them
and although they fit well, are not Logo'd at least that I can find, so they
may/may not be LEGO.

Probably fake, the prints on the faces don't look right.

Many of what you would call fakes are custom printing on real Lego parts. The
heads aren't fakes as you call them but are custom printed.

Thank you so much for the quick response. So, it looks like the heads are probably
a custom print onto a LEGO head and the blanket is just an aftermarket compatible
piece. Puzzle solved. You guys are awesome!
