| Per this exchange, I am formally asking for prices and stores to be shown again
in the Wanted List. Please vote!
My email to bugs@bricklink.com:
| I am unable to see prices in my wanted list, and it takes many, many more
clicks to actually be able to find any shops with the parts that I want. I
depend on this feature, and need the old functionality restored as quickly
as possible.
Yesterday this page ( http://www.bricklink.com/wantedView.asp?wantedMoreID=
) allowed me to have access to some of the functionality I needed, but it
now redirects to the new, broken wanted list.
Please fix the wanted list.

Response from Bricklink:
| Unfortunately this is not currently a function of the new wanted list feature. I am very sorry that you are not satisfied with the new wanted list feature. We provided users with the opportunity to provide feedback during our preview launch and have since applied much of that feedback. The redirect link was a bug and should not have ever led to the old pages. I understand that learning an entirely new feature can be a bit daunting and would be more than happy to help you with specific tasks if I am able. However, if you have any specific suggestions you would like to provide about how we can improve the wanted list please feel free to post them on the Suggestions topic of the Discussion Forum. This way other users that feel similarly can vote on these changes. This will be the most efficient way to get them addressed. Thank you!
Sincerely,
BrickLink Quality Assurance

That is deeply disappointing, but as I suggested elsewhere...they will likely
do NOTHING.
I'm sorry, but that statement that "We provided users with the opportunity
to provide feedback during our preview launch and have since applied much of
that feedback" is such a copout.
The comments were there and they did almost nothing.

I am real sad to see this and really wish BL would reconsider. That said, it
is pretty clear at this point that BL wants to be more like Amazon and appears
to be moving away from the AFOL community that brought them all this way. Sad.

| The new WL system seems to be catering for the new casual buyer that only wants
a few bricks and has no idea wether there getting ripped off or not. The old
system was much more useful but apparently outdated and needed a total overhaul
to attract the newbie community.
So I think Newbies is the answer your looking for ;o)

| Well hello all - (relatively) new casual buyer here! I ventured over into the
forums, wondering if I had simply somehow overlooked the ability to display stores
by item count and price. Apparently not! Having this feature removed is a big
loss - for everyone. Not knowing what the stores' prices are (and sorting
by price) really stinks.
Consider this a vote to bring it back, please!

That is very unfortunate. I had thought that adding the prices and list of stores
for each part would be relatively simple, and a good way to get power-users on
board.
Although I do not really use Want Lists in the way that the power users do, so
this suggestion would not benefit me as a buyer, I have voted yes.

My goodness, that is a condescending reply! It certainly makes me reconsidering
offering up suggestions or even asking them for help. They're pretty much
saying we're right, you're wrong, get used to it or get lost. Though
I'm not thrilled with the update I'm trying to be patient here and give
it time, but they'd better be careful how they treat the members or a lot
of people may indeed get lost. A snotty attitude from the support team will
run me off a lot more quickly than bad software.

| I wrote the exact same thing to them today and received the exact same copy and
pasted answer back.
It would seem their excuse was that it had been out for us to test and we didn't
say anything? I don't have time to test your software for you.... There
are people paid to do that.
Other than to see how it looked, I didn't fiddle with it. I didn't think
in a million years you would completely remove a feature like this - outrageous.
So now I have no idea what stores have the parts with prices I'm willing
to pay. The Brick-efficiency type search is nice, but does not work for all
circumstances.
I would like that you be able to turn that on or off, if you have a coupon for
a store for example, it would be nice to turn it off ( showing only parts within
price range ) - or on.
Very much a big mistake to remove this feature, I will buy far far less on the
site with it turned off, as I don't have time to sort through stores and
60+ pages of items to find the price I'm willing to pay.

| Voted yes, the current wanted list is simply not usable for people who are working
on serious projects. It is only helpful for casual shoppers. I don't see
why they can't find a middle ground. I need to see store prices, as well
as my entire list in an easily viewable format. I'm holding off all shopping
until this is fixed.
