I'm trying to get an answer to this question, but I wasn't able to find
it anywhere. Hopefully someone knows the answer.

My question is this:
Lets say I have 1 Batman minifigure for sale on BrickLink and Brick Owl, thanks
to the inventory synchronization via Brick Seller. If someone buys that figure
off of BrickLink, when does my Brick Owl inventory update so that the Batman
minifigure is no longer available for sale? Is it instant, as soon as the order
is made on BrickLink? Or do I have to manually run the software to do any updates?
I am trying to avoid a situation where something is ordered twice and I am unable
to fill an order.

Most programs sync every 5 min to 15 min, and based on experience, over the years
through thousands of orders, ive only ever sold the same item on both in that
timeframe once, and it was only a $5 (roughly) torso. Some programs let you set
your own sync time.

The process in Brick Seller that updates your inventory quantity on BL and BO
as orders are created on both marketplaces automatically runs every 10 to 15
minutes.
