Hi, first time asking for help on this forum, thanks in advance. A buyer placed
an order last night that contains a vulgar phrase instead of a name for the address.
On principle I don't like the idea of shipping to this obviously fake and
vulgar name, but I'm also not entirely sure of the legality of shipping to
an obviously fake name.
I'd like to request the buyer give me an actual name before I ship it, but
is that out of line? Should I Just ship it to the address provided when they
made the order, regardless of content?

Check the PayPal's address, for once (I never do) - and if correct put this
one?
Alternatively an e-mail would do it: "Sorry but please provide us with a
legit postal address".
Note, and here anyway, it's a misdemeanor to insult the postman if you write
bad things on a letter or package.

I'm guessing its a joke or a prank on the receiving party. I know my friend
and I that send things back and forth will put silly things as the name or business
name. I've seen others do it as well. Nothing vulgar though.
Of course you could just put "bricklink user" as the name I guess?

As a seller you have every right to want to be seen to act with professionalism
therefore its not at all unreasonable to request that a proper name be given
after all the package could come into contact with many other people before it
reaches the actual recipient, be that neighbour, various postal workers or even
the recipient who isn't appreciative of the joke and with a business address
on the return it could have a negative reflection on how your business may be
perceived by others
I wouldn't have a problem using a harmless fun quirky nickname but I certainly
wouldn't allow wording that could be deemed as crude, childish or offensive
to anyone
