When I go to any of my wanted lists and click on "More Options" next
to the search bar it gives me a bunch of things to select.
One of these things is to arrange the shops selling particular items according
to either "Best Price" or "Lowest Price" (or highest, but what's
the point of that).
Now:
1) What exactly is the difference between "Best" and "Lowest"
price? Isn't the best price the lowest?
2) Why does BL totally disregard whichever I select and shows stores in a more
or less random order? Not alphabetical, not by available quantity, not by any
other criteria, and very definitely not by item price.
And yes, I've asked the same question in the technical issues topic about
two months ago and not a single ... response was given.
The old interface did this sorting thing without a hitch. But, of course, that
was the old interface, before everything got fancy and useless.

That’s a question that’s been left unanswered since the “new” layout for WLs,
so mid-2016 or so.
Well, to be more accurate, at first, the question was more about the Auto-select
options, because we had options at the time (cheapest, least number of shops,
best).
We never were told the difference and the options disappeared.
So my best guess is that “best” is what Auto-select now uses.
That should include some “rating” of the store and the loosely-estimated shipping
cost.

It Works For Me™ as far as I can see.

That remark made me start experiment with things.
Previously, I have also selected stores to be shown from my native country (Hungary)
only, as well as lowest price, as most parts are available here, too, at much
lower shipping costs. I thought that might have something to do with it, so I
reset it to "any region". What happened is that stores were suddenly
listed correctly, in increasing order of price, but still only in Hungary. Then
I remembered my general settings for my wishlists were set to show only Hungarian
stores, so I've changed that to any region, too, but to no avail, only Hungarian
stores were shown still. Maybe if I log off and on again, but I'm reasonably
happy with the results so far as long as the order is correct and can't be
bothered with checking the reasons.
Thanks for the tip, it seems things are more or less normal now.

Weird. I tried several things before answering, like changing the area (region
EU and country France and none) and the order and it always worked but now it’s
stuck to France and when I change it, it reverts as soon as I hit Apply.
Even after resetting the form, it always goes back to France.
(“France” is NOT my default!)

Well, no thanks to you: now my form is stuck on France!
Good thing I never use that feature!
Well, never mind, I've logged out, logged back in and everything is back
to chaos again.
And yes, once you select a country you are stuck with it no matter how hard you
try to change the location. I quit.
