here before it really takes off? We are all grown-ups here and can read and understand
brands that we know and use everyday without unnecessary decorations, TOS, fine
print, or reminders.
It's enough that there is BrickLink instead of bricklink and Bricklink.
It's enough that there is LEGO instead of Legos and Lego.
We don't need or want another layer.

What is the issue with it? Isn't it just their style guide, where the first
instance of a product name they do LEGO®, then afterwards just LEGO when referring
to the same thing.
So in the description of the Black Pearl, they do "Embark on a creative voyage
with the LEGO® Icons Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Ship (10365) model for adults.
Craft a detailed LEGO interpretation of the legendary ghost galleon with soaring
masts, torn ..."

'They' is LEGO right? Talking to millions of customers they don't
know. Here, 'they' is BrickLink talking to the 20 or 30 of us that
are still here on the Forum. It just feels too formal and too, well, corporate
for this community space. Like so many other things that are going the wrong
way.
You are right of course and it shouldn't matter. But I get to not like things
for no rational reason too. The ®s just look stupid in plain text and not on
a logo image or something.
Anyway, not trying to cause a big fuss... just having a bad day.

I agree with what you perceive as "wrong", but sometimes change reflects
betterment. We should voice our concerns (feedback) but avoid criticizing. That
is my take on it anyways.

I don't think that They® (yes, LEGO) see the gorum like that. I think they
believe that the community announcements board is, well, the place for announcing
things to the community as this is where the community is. When the reality is
that there is no single LEGO or BL community and so no place where everyone gathers,
but rather lots of smaller communities that hang out in different places (and
often want different things).
I think that is probably the reason behind the way the news was released in the
first place with LEGO or BL high-ups mistakenly believing "the BL community"
is here so this is where to talk to it.

Hard to argue with this, that is generally what happens at such levels to cause
unfortunate incidents. But they did extend the deadline and make compromises
to those affected.

No no no, there’s no mistake here! The forum is where the BL community is and
it still needs member-mods!
Yes, you are right of course. I do think that it was the long silence from BL
and the lack of responses that emptied this place out (and hiding the link to
actually get here) so I should see this engagement as a positive thing. They
should show up here and talk to us and maybe not be met with a hail of criticism.
Especially rude criticism. I know and understand this.
But I can't right now pull up anything that isn't critical. It feels
like nothing has been right since last December with the changes to the nav and
menus. Has there been any good news or updates? Because, it's been a year
and they are clearly leaving it like it is. The merge went badly and issues with
it still aren't answered or resolved. We don't know how many members
will be anonymized and lose their accounts come December 31st. They 'yeah,
whatever'-ed our concerns about our ID badges which, I can only assume, are
now a lost cause. They killed the old My Orders page with no communication or
concern for sellers that still used it. And now they closing off marketplaces
and need a public outcry to be told that closing up shop in 2 weeks with no notice
is not okay for business owners here? Come on already.
So, instead I am here tongue in cheek complaining about the trademark symbol.
I shouldn't even be posting this reply but I am anyway.

Actually, I was only making an “I fear for my job!” joke 😅
It appears I’m more profund than I think 😎
