This is so off topic, but I am not much of a tech whiz and I have a question
for those of you who are. I'm not going to post a link because I don't
want to get the moderators mad but the website's name is techdaddy accs.
It looks like a bit of a fishy website to me but that's just my impression.
What do y'all think? is there a way to tell short of taking the risk and
making a purchase? If not I know better than that and I'll look elsewhere.
Sorry, this is a bit random but thanks for your help.

There are a few ways, 1 is to go do a whois lookup, which shows the site was
registered about 5 years ago

Another is sites like trust pilot which show decent for the site, and scam detector
shows its not the worst. If you end up placing an order there, use a credit card
thru PayPal if possible for maximum protection and you should probably be good

Thanks man. I'll think about it.

The above advice is great!

I will add, since you've mentioned you feel it is fishy, I'd also keep
focus on this. What makes it feel fishy to you (beyond the fact it's new
to you), and how might you check the facts around what is driving this feeling?

When I've faced the situation in the past, I've asked myself whether
the "discount" is worth taking the risk. e.g. Can I buy the item somewhere
that feels "safer" for me, albeit paying a little extra?

That's what I'm trying to decide. Do I buy it off eBay for more but feel
safer? Or do I take the risk and possibly save a nice chunk of cash? Leaning
towards eBay (or similar) because of the safer feeling, but we'll see.
