When I posted about sellers not having instant checkout, I was told to “just
ask the seller” for an estimate of the shipping cost. As an update, I tried
that 3 days ago and still waiting for a response from the seller. No Quote Request
available. Deleting that $70 cart and moving on.
I have the quoting feature on, but in my almost 6 years on BL, only 1 buyer has
ever used it. Give my store a shot if you want. If the quote feature doesn't
work, let me know.
My store is set up for instant checkout for orders under 1 lb. For anything over
it would prompt me to send an invoice.

Quite often size and weight play a major part in a Seller avoiding instant checkout.
A Seller should always respond to a request a quote I agree.
Sometimes a Seller doesn't complete a request a quote knowing the quote is
a waste of time. I had this same example just a few days ago $155.00 shipping
on a $685.00 item because of its weight and size.
I still did my quote, as a rule I complete all of them knowing they will sit
in my quote folder and then lapse after 3 days with the Buyer not asking any
questions. Sometimes to a Seller it feels like a complete waste of time.
Don't be discouraged, there and good Sellers, Bad Sellers, Lazy sellers and
hypervigilant sellers.
But yes if a seller cannot give you the respect you deserve as a buyer, move
on.
