Hi,
why does Bricklink only show "Last 6 Months Sales"? I think as there
are lots of sets that dont get a lot of attraction, I would say "Last 12
Months Sales" would be better to get an indication of Sales.

What´s the reason behind "only" 6 months?
Because hard drives were expensive in 2000.
Okay, now 25 years later...? Any chance we get more month? PLEASE

another reason is that orders are purged after 180 days (unless they are in NSS/NRS
status)

The market also changes with time. Especially when a set is new and brings back
previously rare parts or a set retires and so cannot be bought on the primary
market, having much older data affecting the sold price average will create even
more of a lag. Six months is fine for most parts and sets. For anything where
the data is sparse it means you need to do a bit more work yourself. I'd
prefer the PG to give an accurate representation of recent history for most sets
than to have a longer history that it is no longer recent.
If something hasn't sold or has very low sales in 6 months, then chances
are it hasn't sold or has very low sales in 12 months. Skewing the PG for
the rest of the parts and sets on BL is not a good compromise in that case.

Agreed, data is cheap now, we should build up a history that goes back YEARS.

I don't know. I use this to my advantage as I tend to source rare items.
I'm sure others rely on this for other tactics as well.
