Hello,
I'm trying to part out multiple sets for my store (Willy Wonka & the Chocolate
Factory and Family Christmas Tree), but both say "inventory pending approval"
so I can't part out. I'm new to parting out on Bricklink, so how long
does it usually take for them to approval a set inventory?
Willy Wonka has been pending approval for nearly a month, and the Family Christmas
tree over a week. But, the UCS Death Star inventory was approved within 3 days.
What is going on there?
I also noticed if I search specific pieces for the sets, like if I search the
green leaves from the Christmas tree, they say how many is in that set. I don't
understand why if they have all the numbers for how many are in a set why they
don't just approve the inventory.
I would really like to get moving on parting out these sets but the inventory
pending approval for nearly a month is a bit ridiculous.

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?invPend=Y&catType=S
you can track the progress of sets here. some sets only take a day or 2, others
if from new submitters, can take weeks. its all done by people who have to wait
for the set in the mail, add each new item individually, accurately describe
the parts, photograph them, have admins approve them, add them to inventories,
etc. It is a lot of work.

Willy Wonka is being worked on by Turez, who is an admin, so it should be finished
before to long.
Death Star was a priority one to do, being such a massive set, and it was worked
on by jennifer who is one of the best inventory contributors
I also noticed if I search specific pieces for the sets, like if I search the

it shows the numbers that are in the pending inventory, but that data is incomplete
so they dont release it. if they released it then inventories would be missing
new parts, minifigures, extras, and counts can be off.

if you would like to inventory sets then you can try to do it faster if you would
like, you will need to buy the set, build it, create entires in the catalog with
images and detailed descriptions for each item, invenotry sub assemblies like
minifigures and torsos (individual images for all items), have the items approved,
count the extras, confrim variants, check for new variants, add it all to the
inventory and it will be approved
Thanks!
Hopefully this helps, its understandable to wonder why it takes a while but bricklink
has the best inventories around, better then lego, better then brickowl and better
then all those other sites.
in short, bricklink takes longer, but you wont find better inventories anywhere
else, and the wait is worth it and volunteers are working behind the scenes to
get the inventories ready
