Hi everyone,
I recently found an old 8×12 LEGO baseplate with the underside grid pattern (part
bb0031 style).
• The color looks like tan/beige (not light grey or white).
• The LEGO logo is in the older embossed style.
• Size: 8×12 studs.
• It shows consistent color all through the part, not painted.

I’ve checked BrickLink/BrickOwl and only found bb0031 in green (sets 608-1 Kiosk
1971, 364-1 Harbour Scene 1975).
Tan is listed as a “wanted” color but not confirmed in any set.

Could this be:
• A genuine rare production run in tan?
• Or simply a white/grey plate that has evenly yellowed with age?

Photos attached (front and back). Any insights or confirmations from other collectors
who may have seen this color before would be greatly appreciated!

It is highly likely that it is a white plate that has become yellowed over time,
considering that the color tan did not exist when that type of plate was produced.

These can vary from white, ivory white (glossy) through various shades of tan
from the original white.

Alot of these get really gross color change over time. This one is no exception.

No way that's tan... looks 100% like yellowed white
