Please can someone offer me some help and guidance, sometime in the near future
I’m going to be planning to design and create a MOC Engine Shed Display Case
for the forthcoming Lego Technic Train set of the LNER Flying Scotsman and 3
carriages.
As part of this next MOC project I’m also looking to assemble a pair of MOC Bi-folding
Doors and MOC Mounting Rails to the front section of the display case, and I
would like to ask if any MOC builders could please provide me with a few step-by-step
diagrams, of how assemble a pair of Bi-folding doors to the mounting rails and
also how these are eventually assembled to the frame, so that I can eventually
use this as a form of reference for my own project.
Because I do understand that most MOC creations don’t come with any actual building
instructions, but as I currently don’t have a clue how to assemble these sectional
building modules at the moment, but hopefully with the use of the above information
it would go someway in resolving this issue.
If you can please help with this query, in anyway possible I would be most appreciated.

I can’t give a step-by-step but the pic below shows what can be done.
The principle is simple:
1. You need rails, or rather grooves, 30586 is good for that (grey on the
pic), or tiles. Be careful not to use too small tiles: the joints between the
tiles will hamper the sliding.
2. You need round bits that fit in the grooves, above and below. I just used
round 1x1 plates at the bottom and studs at the top.
3. Those bits are placed every 2 panes (so only at the ends on my small example).
4. You need “loose” hinges, like the brick hinges I used on the pic. Plate hinges
or clip-&-bar connections have too much friction (especially if the doors are
high and you need multiple connections).
On the example, I anchored the door on the left. It hinges on studs but that
could also be too hard to hinge.
I used rounded sides… but that may not be necessary. It depends on the walls
and on how you connect the doors to them.

Some MOCs don’t have instructions but the .io file is available and you can then
see how things are done.
There’s also designs on Rebrickable.com (and some are free).
