I’m trying to get an idea what the realistic resale value of this collection
is, is it worth parting it out or selling as sets.

I’m new to all selling, and apart from about 15kg of LEGO from when I was a child
I have already sorted, I don’t know if it’s worth selling this as a job lot,
as sets or parts.

It all comes down to how much time you want to spend.

If you want to spend the least amount of time, but earn the least amount of money,
bulk sell at lets say 5/kg of just pieces.

If the collection is already sorted by set, great! You can verify completeness
and list them as used complete/incomplete sets. That would gain you the most
money but also the most time consuming.

If you are somewhere in between, I'd focus on the smaller sets first, see
how much work you put in to get some cash, then decide your plan for the larger
sets.
