Like the title says I have a volcanic themed LEGO City display in very good condition.

Originally I bought it thinking I'd remove the Legos for my kids to play
with, but my brother in law suggested I should post it here to ascertain it's
value.

Any information you have that could help me figure out how I should move forward
with this interesting piece would be very helpful as I'm a complete noob.
Thank you in advance!

There are facebook groups specifically for collecting store displays, You'd
have a much better chance of getting an accurate price there!

Try to find the right buyer as there is a market for displays. Once you find
the right buyer you could probably fetch a couple hundred for a display like
this.

Did you buy it a long time ago? Otherwise, how did you buy it without finding
out its value?

Speaking only of maximizing your value, I am sure you will get the most for it
selling it just as it is. There is a popular online auction site you could use,
especially if you live in a large metropolitan area where people could pick it
up.

If the absolute maximum isn't your goal, certainly your kids could play with
the LEGO and I expect the box itself would still be valuable.

I literally bought it yesterday for $200 on Facebook marketplace. I just figured
the value of the sets inside outstripped the asking price so I pulled the trigger
on it.

Well, with most display cases the sets are often glued.
So I don't know if the sets will be useable.

Store displays of "regular" themes are usually about $200

The sets are glued

I would just resell it and recover your captial.

You might find that the parts are glued together and even that the vehicles and
figures are glued down. In that case, they are not so interesting for play. I've
seen a different one in the past where everything was glued and even a similar
helicopter had the rotors glued in place so that it didn't move in transport.
