Received couple of old boxes of Lego from my parents, and I have this set in
possession which I want to sell. However, the issue I have is as follows:
1) The boxes did not contain the sails anymore.
2) The baseplate is quite damaged with 2 corners broken off, discoloration and
a 1 inch / 2,5 cm crack along the ramp.
What's my best course of action, buy them separately and include them, to
increase value? However, most of the sails and baseplates in good condition are
quite expensive, and I'm not guaranteed to sell the set soon.
Or would collectors prefer to buy those themselves, and buy the rest of the set
from me at discounted price? I was thinking around 150-200$ or something, not
sure if it has a chance of success? (located in EU btw) Maybe it's just the
sails and the baseplate that have value...
That baseplate is really quite damaged....
My advice: sell the parts individually.
Completing a set like this needs a baseplate in better shape.
But, you need a sellers account first!
Honestly if I have to catalogue, photograph and sell each item individually I'll
be stuck with it for years I think.
I don't have much space, so my plan was to sell everything at a price 10-20%
lower than the Avg sale price of last 6 months. I got a couple of other sets
as well, and it's taking up too much space that I don't have. I wanted
everything to be gone by Christmas. Let's see.
Your advice is much appreciated, I think I'll buy one of the nicer baseplates
for this set around 30-35 euro and take it from there. That way I should also
have the necessary upvotes for getting a sellers account

If you want it gone fast BrickLink might not be the best platform. It can take
months or even years to sell the parts, especially if you only have a very limited
selection.
From experience, it can also take years to sell a used vintage set. Even if
it's priced at the lowest in the world.

If you do buy one, respectfully request that it be packed well inside a box.
I bought one once and it was shipped in a plastic bag without protection, needless
to say it arrived rattling before I opened the bag, all the corners had broken
off during shipping.

Even when a seller claim a vintage set is complete, some issues arise.
Based on the missing and damaged parts, I doubt that
- all the minifigures are correct and present. A few of them are rare
- the flag is present and its clips are not broken,
- the white parts are not yellowed.
I doubt you can sell this at an average price minus the price of four sails and
baseplate. When a set is incomplete, it is sold for less.
