I'm trying to understand why certain pieces from a stored Ship in a Bottle
set (92177) would be randomly discolored?

I have experience with white discoloration due to sunlight, but I don't think
that it does the same to clear because, if you're familiar with the set,
the pieces in the photo would be right next to each other.

Discoloration appears uniformly by part type which makes me question if it was
a manufacturing issue?

Discolored transclear parts:
3005
4070
85941
30562 (pictured above)
3024
87552
3065

Non-discolored parts
6002
60581
3023
54200
11833

I believe lego "recently" changed the plastic type they use to make transparent
parts so parts made now a days are very noticeably different then older ones,
trans-light blue is on the most noticable
