I would like to suggest additional options for wanted lists (and subsequently
the buy process).
- First would be a "any colour" option. This would be very helpfull for
big models, where the colours of the internal structure does not matter. I know
I could adjust each part manually for the most available colour, but "Any
colour" could vastly increase how good of an result the auto select algorithm
can create. This option could either be a special colour, or it could be an option
in the dropdown I suggest below
- Second is an "Alternate parts" option. This could be a dropdown for
each row of the wanted list, where you can choose between
"No alternatives allowed"
"Known mold variations allowed"
"Manual list" where you can enter acceptable alternate part numbers
manually
I think it is rather self-explanatory, it serves to broaden the search parameters
in hope to decrease the number of shops needed to fulfill a Wanted List.
I am aware those changes could increase computing demands, since there are a
lot more possible combinations. On the other hand, it could become way easier
to find a sufficiently good fit.
If I kick in open doors please excuse, I find the whole messaging board rather
clunky and hard to filter though. Search function came up with nothing.
I'm glad to ehar you opinions on my ideas. Or workarounds, that I am unaware
of.

Already exists: it’s how “Not Applicable” works for parts in Wanted Lists.
But be careful with that:
— Search in store: all the lots in all the colours are shown. Do not use Auto-Fill
or it will by all the lots/colours!
— EasyBuy/Auto-select: the way the colour is chosen is a mystery. It seems the
algorithm tries to use the same colour for all the parts in N/A. In any case,
it rarely finds the cheapest option, even in the stores that are chosen for other
parts.

That is very cool, thanks. And it 100% contradictionary to the way "not aplicable"
works on the item page itself Because there it seems to only show the listings,
where the seller forgot to select a colour.
I played around with it there once and concluded, it is just a artifact or needed
for some reason. Because there you also have the "All colours" option.
Never would have guessed that is works the other way around for wanted lists.
