I received my first charge back for unauthorized purchase this morning. The order
was from a new buyer and a couple hundred dollars.
I do not leave feedback until a buyer has either marked their order complete
or left feedback for me so I know all is well and the order is done.
This buyer already has 14 feedback from some more well known stores, I am guessing
from the date of registration that these sellers left feedback right away after
receiving payment.
I would like to leave a negative immediately. And I may be the only person who
can notify other potential sellers of the issue since I still have the feedback
option available. However, I can not change the status of the order to NPB because
Bricklink wants me to send a refund. I can't refund anything, paypal has
it. I am still waiting for the dispute outcome at paypal. If I leave a negative
now, then the buyer, could just log in and leave me a negative.
I don't know what to do. What will bricklink do? Can I dispute negative feedback
if a chargeback was filed? What if I win, then does the feedback still go away?
More people have responded that they also have chargebacks filed.
I have emailed bricklink to look into the buyers account and possibly take action
while this gets sorted. All orders were of higher $$$-$$$$ value and all the
chargebacks came in this morning for orders with a status of delivered. Those
that responded with orders in transit still, do not seem to be affected yet.

Once an order is paid for it cannot be changed to NPB, even if the amount is
subsequently refunded. Sellers used to be able to do that but not anymore.
Unfortunately the buyer will be able to leave you feedback because this won't
be an NPB. If you do get negative feedback the only thing you can do is ask Bricklink
to remove it.

Hey I didn't see you posted this. I'm pretty sure they remove bogus feedback
when a scammer leaves it. It happen to me once.
You will win the PP claim. Still not fun dealing with it.

If it's just a PP claim then OP could win but if it's a credit card chargeback
that's something else

Agreed.
We had a few chargebacks over the years at the brick and mortar store I worked
at. Never won a single one of them. Even with the person on camera signing the
cc slips and various other evidence. I'd imagine winning an online one would
be impossible
Chargebacks are sooo easy to abuse, its a wonder its not used to scam more often.
