| Was wondering what a good red piece is for a house of a roof. Was thinking slopes.

No problem, LEGO names are not visible here, and they are generally, well, bad.
But those parts were made for roofs, as you can see if you search “roof” in sets:

Yes the 33 slope 3x4 and 2x4 work good. I have a ton in my store available especially
red.
