I am struggling with the "Import collection" feature of Bricklink.
When I try to add a collection (stored in XML format) that contains minifigures
with two digits, e.g. col25-12 (https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?S=col25-12#T=S&O={%22iconly%22:0}),
the minifigure is not added to the collection. This even happens, if you add
the minifigure manually on Bricklink, then export the collection as an XML file,
and then re-import the exported XML file.
Note, that this does not happen with single digit minifigures, e.g. 25-1, 22-2,
19-9, ...
As far as I can tell, with the double digit minifigures, the second figure when
importing the XML file is discarded, and so the collection store the minifigure
25-12 as 25-1.
Can you confirm this behaviour?
Is there anything that can be done about it (except for manually adding the minifigures,
which is not really an option for me, since I generate my collections in an automated
fashion via script)?
I tried generating a CSV instead of the XML, but that does not work at all for
the import.
Note, that this does not happen with single digit minifigures,
*sets
e.g. 25-1, 22-2, 19-9, ...
As far as I can tell, with the double digit minifigures,
*sets
the second figure
*digit (I'm on a spree )
when
importing the XML file is discarded, and so the collection store the minifigure
25-12 as 25-1.
Can you confirm this behaviour?
Yes. I just tested and it does that. I guess the one(s) who developped My Collection
didn't look in the catalogue / database enough.
And I can confirm that it ‘eats’ the last digit: when trying 1076.1-25 (first
calendar set I found ), it imports 1076.1-2. (It could have always replaced
10+ with 1.)
Is there anything that can be done about it (except for manually adding the minifigures,

Well, you can report the bug to the Help Desk and post in the Technical Issues
topic¹.
¹ I can also move this thread there… but as people often have trouble finding
back their messages when I do that, I prefer waiting for your answer

the import.
Have you tried different separators (semi-column, or tab)?
(I haven't tried.)
thank you for the speedy reply and the clarification in regards to sets/minifigures
- yes, I meant the set col25-12, which in layman terms is a minifigure.
Yes, if you could move the post to Help Desk, that would be much appreciated.
As for the CSV: the last time I tried, if I recall correctly, I tried everything
that came to my mind, i. e. changing separators, changing newline behaviour,
changing charset etc. It would never work...
But, so far the XML has always worked for me - I only noticed the weird behaviour
with "minifigure-sets" with two digits today.

Thanks for your help!
Any news on this issue? I have not heard back from HelpDesk so far. Is this issue
known? It should affect everyone on the platform, not just me.
no, I did not even get a "thank you for reporting" so I am not sure if
the issue has even been acknowledged at all.
Thank you for the link in the meantime!
PS: On the website it says "[My Collection] Fixed an issue where not all
items were being imported from Brickset XML" for 2025-05-08 but it must have
been another bug, since the issue I encountered persists.

Yes, that’s what I think too… or it was the same problem but as Brickset XML
isn’t BrickLink XML, the correction wasn’t ported.
In any case, I just filed a report too.
And I got the automatic answer: case 09735686 (too bad it’s not 09375686
).
Maybe your answer went into your spam folder?
If you need to contact HelpDesk again, be sure to check you get the automatic
answer. If not, try a direct email to bricklink@support.lego.com , or use another
email address yourself. It’s annoying but some servers think BrickLink / LEGO
is spam (uncouth people!).

Hi Sylvain, thanks for your help! Will check my spam folder. Let's hope they
fix the issue.
