Anyone else notice the LOR0142 Spongey Cape missing in Bag 1 Part number 101658,
(or the other un-numbered bag which has the horse and 4 plates)?

I know I can get another one from lego.ca for free that's not an issue.

But it's a part that generally comes in its own little white box and would
generally not be missing from a new set.

I don't have the set, but I immediately noticed that bush that put on Bag
End. What happened to the great big tree. LEGO, you dropped the ball on this
one. That tree could have been a bit larger. lol

Mine was loose in the paper envelope with the other two cloth pieces, .

I better go have a another look, I don't remember seeing those other cloth
pieces either and I am sure the person I sold the parts to will want those cloth
pieces they are probably worth 20 bucks

You are 100% correct I went through my bin and found that envelope.

Weird TLG has 13 numbered bag and 1 bag un-numbered for the horse and 4 plates
and yet treats the 2 fabric pieces and the cape like "extra garbage".

Thank you very much I appreciate you responding.

It was only after I saw your post that I realised I hadn't seen capes when
I parted mine out this morning. I hadn't put any of the minifigs away yet,
so didn't even give it a thought until then. It was the only place left to
look, other than in with the instructions.

It was definitely not typical of TLG to pack the capes and fabrics they way they
did. I would not have noticed either if I wasn't parting for the figs and
went searching for a non existent cape myself.

Like me when parting you probably just look for a little white square box and
do that robotically for capes and put the box in a baggy with the unassembled
parts.

Definitely not a normal practice of Lego to package and ship they way they did.

It's almost as though they had packing issues-like a mistake and afterthought
to fix what they missed. I found the way they shipped the horse with 4 random
plates also strange. Their packing standards were definitely lowered on the 10354.

I have several of this set. I actually built one also. It was a good build. I
think the designer did a great job structurally. I found the actual minifigs......just
average I for someone reason expected better detail as an LOTR Lego fan.
