The past week I've started getting payments marked as "Paid" with
an exclamation mark on them. I don't know what triggers it, I cancelled a
buyer's order because of it and they reordered with no problem; the payment
was submitted instantly.
I have had 2 orders today marked as this status and want to know why this happens.
Paypal shows the payment as pending, but then it just vanishes after a few days!
Its never approved at all it just goes missing. The buyers never send actual
funds? But these are not fradulent buyers! They have plenty of feedback.
Is this a Bricklink site-wide issue or a Paypal side issue? Where is the mistranslation
occuring?
Would love to hear opinions and suggestions about this.

Thanks,
A few years back it would be a handful of them a year at most. But they always
cleared as I think they actually were e-cheques. Now I have had 10 or so the
past month. I do think there is a BL/PayPal issue somewhere as all the recent
ones I have not intervened with have just expired.
I now void the PayPal transaction, mark as not paid and status to pending. Then
send an invoice to the buyer. They pay and all is as it should be. Has worked
every time...so far!

1) the buyer goes through all the redirect steps but the credit card attached
to the buyers PayPal declines the transaction (ie over limit)
2) the buyer does NOT complete all the redirect steps- meaning after PayPal sends
them back to Bricklink to complete payment, they don’t click the final button.
In case #2 I believe it will show up as a pending payment in your PayPal account,
which is misleading because it never actually appears and malicious buyers could
take advantage of this.
The only way I know to solve the issue is cancel the order and force the buyer
to replace it. I’ve heard there’s a way you can reset the existing order so
the buyer can try to submit payment again. On my order display page I have payment
status and shipping status as separate fields displayed so I can mark them as
bounced completed, etc., but I don’t see a mechanism to reset the order to the
buyer can attempt the payment again.
